M&E reductions announced

OSMs on the line or their Line equivelent was reportedly already brought up by the company. I guess they have planned this reduction in force for some time now, certainly before fuel shot up so much, probably when they started pushing "Working Together". "Show us how to save time and money so we can get rid of you."

The last sentence in this posting really hits the nail on the head. Unfortunately, many TWU members have been duped by this tactic - known as the Delphi technique. 😛h34r:

<_< ----- Go figure! On one hand they're talking RIF, and the other, bringing more 3rd. party work in here at MCI. I heard today they're going to bring in 738 center Aux. tank installation mods. on brand new 737-800's under 145. How many?------ not sure!!! That's o.k. keep them coming! We'll take anything we can get! 🙄

I know you have been in the industry for a long time. But I think this needs repeating: Don't believe anything until you see the airplane being towed into the hangar.

Well I've just seen it in writing that the 777 check line is headed to Tulsa starting this fall.

I find it difficult to see how the obvious beginning of the end of AFW would be considered good news, please explain.

Heard AFW is getting another 767 check line and TULE is getting 777 line. Good news for Tulsa I mean and does not sound to me like AFW is closing unless you know something I don't. No disrespect intended.

Does that make any sense to fly that thing to Tulsa for a check. Why wouldnt you keep it close to a hub?

<_< ----- None taken, and no I don't know anything more than you do.

Maybe to offset the lose of the A-300 lines in Tulsa so we don't have to lay anyone off due to the Airbus going away?

This company does not do much that makes sense. All of you that are so happy to see afw losing work, remember one day it could be you. We are real people with real families not some made up place for you to throw stones at. Once again the twu has proven itself inept. As for the 767 c check, well I would not put much stock in that. 10 days ago capt fred was asked face to face if the 777 was going to tulsa, he said no way. Well now its heading north. The man is a liar so keep that info in your back pocket fellas. Btw, we have some considerable senority here so all you tulsa guys so happy might not be when we bump back to t-town.

So are you guys not getting another 767 line to replace the 777?

I just have a hard time believing that AA will keep AFW open to handle just 767's when the old DFW Delta hangar has the docks to handle 767's, along with the shop space. Especially when AA is quoted recently as reviewing whether or not they want to continue doing 3rd party work.

What work is currently being done in the old Delta hangar? It is being used fully or do they have bays open?
