did the company announce wich ( other 4) cities will remain open besides bos, dca, lga, pit, clt, phl

The company is going to reduce line maintenance from 18 to 14, they have not told the IAM which ones are to be shut or opened besides the ones in the term sheet.

I know INT is not a line station and the closure of the Shops there has already been announced in conjuction the with closure of the PIT Green Tree RES Center yesterday. Nothing excactly earth shattering there...unless it was your particular piece of the earth that got shattered? I'm sure both ends have had months or at least a couple of years to grapple with this coming.

Regarding the Line Station closings. I'd bet that ORD and ATL are at the top of the list...and other possibles could be RIC , ORF , BWI , TPA , PVD or BDL....MIA could also go away as FLL will likely have to become a Line Station if the going forward plan shows signs of really working? The thru-flight count and the amount of RON's in FLL at some point will dictate this need....or eventually the write-ups and subsequint cancellations related to the previous will.

Bids for FLL were posted Monday.

PVD and BDL do good work do their fate is up in the air.

MIA will be closed as I believe ATL, SFO and ORD will be closed also.

Wow,

Without even knowing a bid or having seen a paper denoting closures I was well above 75% on my guesstimations.

I agree , PVD and BDL are some hellaciuos mechanics...and their collective efforts are somewhat legendary in our system...but the proximity to BOS could be the kiss of death for one or both for them?

I also do not rule out RIC or BWI...BWI being more likely for two reasons , on-field sources for contract work on thru-flights...and proximity to DCA. RIC is close to DCA too...but fewer support resources are there in comparison to BWI....ORF will be spared for simply being off the beaten path somewhat...and I do believe they are loved by somebody up there.

I agree BWI will be gone more then likely.

TPA not sure about, they do have a lot of RONs and do a 757 check, so we shall see.

what about sfo ,lax and ind

I thought I all ready posted I believe SFO will be closed, LAX does a C-Check on the A321 so I believe they are safe, IND has been closed all ready, is it GSE only station?

You will see all GSE only stations closed.

and if you reference the term sheet there is line staffing system wide in the 1100 mechanic neighborhood......i'm hearing PIT line with around 130 and 18 overnites.
so there should be a reasonable increase in out station staffing somewhere out there.....

700UW,

Out of curiosity, what's the complete list of stations where US does line maintenance?

And US only has actual hangars at a few of those places, correct?

US Airways line mtc stations are:

ATL, BDL, BOS, BWI, CLT, DCA, LAX, LGA, MCO,MIA, ORD,ORF, PHL, PIT,PVD, RIC, SFO and TPA.

There are Line Hangars at BOS (Small), CLT, DCA (Small), LAX (Small), PHL, and PIT.
