I'm an AA mechanic and have started to follow your forum here with all this merger talk. Well apparently our unions thought it would be a good idea to go and give their blessing "on our behalf" to this deal without bother to ask us first. Your CEO Parker is out there promising the sun moon and stars to anyone who will listen, and one of the things I'm hearing is that he will shut down US Airways facilities and move everything to Tulsa. Great for Tulsa maybe, but not a lot of you. What's the word in your corner of the world?

Per the CBA base must be done in PIT, CLT and some work in PHX.

700, does that requirement refer to the amount of MTC done in house, or is it actually specific to the cities that you have listed? I read somewhere that the combined airline would have over 900 Mainline A/C, so that is a bit of job security for the Mtc guys.
Down the road I can see PIT & PHX Heavy MTC being combined with what AA has based on the size of their current facilities alone.
I'm all for doing as much possible in-house MTC...............

The CBA States base maintenance must be done in CLT and PIT, and the current work done in PHX will continue.

Yes, it says base will be done in CLT and PIT, but it just says that the PHX hangar will be used for a/c mx. Not that it will maintain the same amount of work. Also, you didn't mention that base headcount can go down to 675 including all leads, inspectors, mechanics, and utility. I saw in some other thread you mentioned 40 line stations.. I don't believe there's even 20 line stations anymore.

Yes, the protections are good, but you can but that US management will come at us hard to change that contract language. They will probably even threaten bankruptcy again and throw a tantrum to get their way. They must be STOPPED! And it is more than just the mechanics who have to worry about their jobs if this merger goes through.
