Any truth to a rumor that some of Delta's maintenance stations maybe getting a haircut? If so where and when?

It is high time we contact Washington - ring the phones off the hook to demand airlines use domestic MRO only!

There are no real rumors floating around the TOC. We are kind of out of the loop as far as Line rumors go. I do Know they just added guys to ATL Line, both domestic and international. That was through a leveling bid from the hangar floor. Some also went to shops.

I would think that even if some stations are over staffed they may wait until the build up of the mainline flying starts next year with the 739 and the 717 coming on line. Some stations will see a decrease of CRJ flying and increase in mainline.

I don't know the MCO count right now, but I think it has been trending low this summer. The ODI rate has also been very low. They really like that so pulling guys out of stations will have an effect on those numbers.

DL opened several additional line stations within the past couple years and DL says doing so has helped improve DL's operational reliability.

While it can't be ruled out that DL might thin some of those stations, the chances of them closing maintenance stations is probably fairly low.
