Don't know the rule in this situation, that said i hear talk of NOT paying "show no fly of 2+00".
Ask first before you risk your life/possesions getting to airport....then to be ripped off.

Mgmt in one station says points will be incurred for anyone scheduled to work.

Does anyone know what the airport situation in PHL is like. Spending my second night in CLT, but at a different hotel. I hear the 8am bank has cancelled. Looks like the airport may be closed half of the day, if not all day tomorrow. What a nor'easter!

Even so, said spokeswoman Victoria Lupica, no airlines were lining up to use the runways.

"Most of the airlines including U.S. Airways have ceased operations," Lupica said. "We're expecting 100 percent flight cancellations through tonight with operations resuming sometime tomorrow."

faa.gov shows PHL, EWR and DCA with no delays.

Discussing the company's declaration of "irregular operations sections" of our contracts as a result of the storm is germane to the thread. What the crews do, or don't do, makes a difference.

This is another example of why the PIT hub should not have been closed! PIT could handle this and the airline wouldn't grind to a halt! No way would my PIT-LGW or PIT-FRA cancel because of a blizzard....we were better than Trans Global!

I have been poring through the F/A working agreement and trying to find language that addresses the "systems irregular operations" provisions--per the CBS message--in both the pilot and flight attendant contracts. I Haven't found any language in our contract. If there's a flight attendant out there who knows what the language is and where in the contract it's located, or if the provision is a Me Too item and a pilot knows what this provision is please pass on the info. Thanks!

Here's a snowmeggedon anecdote for you:

At my DC Condo building, we had a swarm of robins: Thousands of robins, seeming to congregate at my front door, in two holly trees, but spreading out to dozens of trees around the hollies.

Folks from all over were taking pictures in the middle of the street (some on their way to the snowball fight in Dupont Circle, no doubt).

I think that maybe the robins couldn't find water or worms in the ground, so they were going for the holly berries. It was weird.

Thats my snow story. ... Hitchcock knew that birds were really kind of creepy (tiny flying dinosaurs).

according to baltimoresun.com website, the BWI Airport wont re open til mid day monday at the very earliest. they have at last i heard recorded 26 or 27 inches of snow and AMTRAK cancelled virtually everything as well. Also heard IAD is open but limited and DCA is shut

What is SWA doing for the "burgh" during the snow storm?

I have been told many times that PIT is a great overflow airport for PHL.

How is that going?

I hope it's going better than PHL.
