More Consessions On The Way?

On the local news here in DFW last night. AA's weakening position and the fact that CO is asking for consessions may force AA to go back to the unions for more
(HDQ bonus money) er. I mean a little (as in JIM) help to survive.
I knew it was coming. It is now a race to illegal alien wages the one who can get there the fastest wins.

Keep it in perspective, folks. Keep it in perspective. The "liquidity crisis" is projected to occur next year if fuel prices continue to rise at the current rate (possible) and if we do not receive any more revenue during that period than we are receiving right now (unlikely) and if no further cost cuts occur (if Flight Service is any indication, highly unlikely).

They are using current revenue (slow quarter) and a hypothetical jet fuel price based upon a continuing rise and no money-saving actions by the company.

I agree that further concessions are possible, but a lot can happen in the next 9 months. Among other possibilities...moving additional mainline flying to AE. This could put me back out on the street on furlough; so, I certainly wouldn't want this, but, it could also mean smaller or no concessions by the people who are left.

the association gave away the store with there agreement but got everyone "the big payday" that they bragged about (for those that were left), and flaunted all over the airline industry and then followed it up with the wonder gutsy saying "full pay to the last day".....these guys should be in the advertising business as they sure come up with some winning slogans to sell their propaganda......and it is still working as so many still believe, even the ones layed off, some who won't be recalled for years....Is generation Xers that uninformed and believe what sounds like a good idea but really has no basis in fact. The association is the pariah of the labor movement.....it is a me thing, not an us thing.....it is the line vs the base, the purported skilled vs the unskilled. Some of these true believers couldn't make an airworthy decision if their license depended on it.........they want the money, but not the responsibility.......I have witnessed it time and time again.....professional??? who you kidding.

Do you still have the pictures of the AA Presidents with Dell at the AMTA event in San Diego. It is now confirmed that one of the presidents, Don Videtich is now appointed full time Intl. His job is to head up the new version of Team TWU in their fight against AMFA. I think it would be time to bring out the picture again showing his support for the AMFA. BTW... Don V (die-hard Republican) was about to be booted out of office when the offer to move up came his way.

Thats the same scenario as Gless, and Gordon and Gillespie.

All of those guys were facing going back to the floor but the International scooped them up.

The International fills up the ranks with unelectable ex-officers who have no loyalty to the members and the members have no trust in them. These people are placed above our elected representatives. This is how the International makes sure that they get people in who will not think twice about screwing the members and lining their own pockets.

WE can not fix this. According to the International elected officers have to do and say whatever the International tells them to say, otherwise they will remove them. So we are under the control of ex-leaders who have a grudge against us and our elected representatives can not speak out in our behalf.

During Littles deposition it was comical how Little said they removed Chuck because the letter that they were forcing him to write "sounded like it was forced" then moments later with a straight face said "the locals are autonomous".

The Internationals interferance is not just with AA maintenance locals. They conspired with the company to terminate most of the board of Local 501, they tried to interfere in the SWA flight attendants negotiations, they conspire to compromise Local 100 constantly, interfered in Local 234 and spend more time and our dues money in court being sued by their own members than any other union I've ever heard of. They use our money against us and those we elect! When critics point out that Sonny Hall was found guilty of violating workers rights they come back by saying that they only had to pay out $1, which is a lie. In fact the award included legal costs which were over a quarter of a million dollars. Every year hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars of our dues money is being wasted by these corrupt leaders as they violate our rights in order to stay in power and enrich themselves and the companies that we work for at our expense.

This is not what unionism is about!!

We need a union where those who violate the trust of the members can be removed by the members and not rewarded with six figure International appointments.

We need a union that will look out for the members interests and not into funding their own generous salaries, perks , benifits and pensions.

We need a union with accountability.

Time for AMFA and the AGW!

It's estimated at $37M in annual savings. The EFIS kits will run around $10M not including labor, so it looks like it pays for itself fairly quickly. Even if the labor to do the work was twice the cost of the parts, it still pays for itself in a year.

1) Reduced training. One cockpit means less time for pilots in the schoolhouse.

2) Reduced sparing. One less set of instrumentation to have to replace when things break.

3) Increased resale value of the aircraft. If it qualifies as a capital expense, it's depreciable, as opposed to just being an expense, so there's probably future tax benefits over the life of the asset.

4) Adds RNAV capability, so all aircraft will be capable of precision approaches, reducing delays.
