MSP gains DL HNL flights

now it's jealousy - how do you come up with this stuff

the other incentives folks take are small city essential air grants - that is completely different than flying to Hawaii

However no problem - DL enjoys the government hand outs - glad they decided to pay more taxes it's kind of offsetting

Amazing how you spin

15 to 1 ratio and counting - before you know it you will be close to a 16 to 1 ratio - can you say obsession

yes, it is jealousy.

If DL gets incentives to operate a 4000 mile route, it is a government hand out.

DL has the business acumen to have good enough relations to see where it can strengthen its network and do so in ways that benefit more than itself.

If you find that the basis of ridicule or scandal, become a voter in MN and try to challenge what DL is gaining.

and for right now quit whining because DL is getting something that other carriers cannot.

Many ski markets are subsidized or have some sort of support.
Yes, by the ski resorts. That's a commercial arrangement, not public assistance.

so do some Caribbean markets.
Really? Name some.

The RDU-LHR flight at least at one time had incentives or revenue guarantees.
Perhaps you'd better look at the details of those before using them as examples.

If you'd said that a cruise company, resort or even an association of resorts/attractions (e.g. ski cities or Branson, MO) was ponying up the incentives, there'd be no further discussion on the topic. Likewise if it were a corporation (e.g. RDU-LHR and service into XNA).

But public funds? I thought you were a fiscal conservative. How do you rationalize that one?

once again he does not have the facts straight - they don't fit his theory - best example is RDU-LHR - no public money there

Is it an incentive or a handout?
it is an incentive.

DL has performance requirements associated with the award.

trying to split hairs about where the money came from is meaningless.

MSP complies with all requirements for how money can be spent.

If jcw or anyone else wants to challenge what MSP is doing, then they should take legal action based on their own standing to do so.

So far as I know, none of the people including myself have legal standing to challenge the actions of a MN government authority which complies with federal law.

again, it is clear that DL managed to find a business solution that meets the needs of its partners and allowing both to benefit.

what a few people on the internet think doesn't matter.
