Nationwide flight attendant walkout threatened

Tuesday, November 16, 2004

By Dan Fitzpatrick, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The national president of the flight attendants union is threatening a nationwide strike against all airlines if any labor contracts are abrogated by a bankruptcy judge.

Story

Duh....We have joked about this but finally someone says it so a lot more people can hear it.

This should be the case in all airlines jobs not just the F/A's ......

Also should not be an empty threat....

Shut the system down....

Arbrogate that....

Welcome to Home Depot...er WalMart..er Dollar Store..whatever

You're so right! This should be an industry effort to stop the "madness" and mean it! This US debacle will overflow to ALL other airlines down the line until the entire industry is destroyed. Someone needs to start something amongst the other groups. Good luck AFA!

i cant understand why this thread was closed as it DOES pertain to usair and united.

Inetersting to note that AFA is mostly at Legacy Carriers. Delta, Southwest, Jet Blue, and other non AFA carriers will be more than happy to fly their passengers
while AFA is waving at windmills. Just another nail in the coffin for the Legacy carriers, especially USAirways.

Having been on strike and walking a picket line for several months, I can tell you there are no "winners" in a strike. The damage done is beyond recovery to both sides of the dispute. Only those competitors with the resources to act to capture market share while a strike is in effect will prosper. SWA says it is ready to add SIXTY new airframes to their fleet in 2005 and possible more, situationally.

Go ahead AFA, make their day.

Im not sure why it was moved either, considering how close it is related to USAirways.

Can I get an explaination from the mod who bumped it?

Thanks.

Are you a f/a? Have you asked or informed yourself of how abysmal it really would be if we allow this company to let a judge do what they want? Do you work here? If so, you KNOW the history. Hey, if SWA is ready for 60 new ones 😱  like you say, guess I better get that resume and app out there since they are the highest paid.

Oh and btw, SWA f/a's did their share of picketing during their last negotiations and threatened, if not hinted to a strike vote. My grandma, what short memory we have. And they aren't AFA. .
