Negotiations........why?

Still waiting on the signed letter Shawn Doyle promised us a month ago that the IAM would not go after our frozen pension funds,

Your frozen pension has a $2 billion shortfall that has to be made up by law.

Is that above you?
Calm down Mr IAM Troll, no need to get testy.  Why if it is such a simple matter of being underfunded
and cut & dry as being against the law for the IAMPF to absorb  the LAA members pension have we not
received that answer "SIGNED" from either unions leadership? We did ask.......still waiting !

Because of the law (ERISA), it would immediately put the fund in the RED, Danger Zone and major cuts would have to be made.

That too hard to understand?
how much shortfall is pension under funded for M&R only?

lol. You just wont go there will you? The onlly cuts would be on the AA side. Once the guidelines for legacy AA members are changed to match the iamnpf guidelines our minimal underfunded status will become a surplus for the iamnpf. You know this is true but as long as you avoid the facts you can stay in the argument.

i agree if the our pension is not on the table in any fashion then the TWU and IAM should put it to bed and put any rumors to be by signing a letter that our pension will not be involved in any shape or form with the IAMPF or in any negotiations other than raising the company contribution rate to our 401K......period.   anything less leaves the door open!

AFL-CIO Unionism is not about breaking down it's member units nor are they interested in doing so.

Unionism as a whole has suffered for quite some time and there goal is to increase membership. The TWU and possibly the IAM is satisfied with what they determined top be adequate compensation, as long as each local and the International Airline Division produces the required assets to the International as a whole and then on to the AFL-CIO for it's purpose.

The attempt at full employment, is a great idea until that attempt becomes a method to acquire the members earnings without that members permission.

If this proves to be true, I wonder what pissed off those guys so much?  I suspect the usual International manipulation was in full force.

That’s not true of course, but you might want to tell your source the next he’s searching for AMFA gossip to titillate his cohorts
with to wipe the toilet seat off first, so he doesn’t catch a STD. The third stool on the left has always had a bad reputation.

(OR) he could just call Peterson or one of the others mentioned in the fabricated rumor to verify it.

I'll pop on the AMFA comment, are you going to blame AMFA for everything bad that happens in these closed negotiations?

I hope not because I am looking forward to getting everything back and more, you an Industry Leading Contract. On top of that 7% wage increase above Delta, I want all my holidays back.

Does anyone really know what Delta + 7% means?
