Negotiations........why?

Chuck,
Seriously are you that thick? For every $650M spent on direct labor and materials AA can outsource $350M. You think AA will spend more money to just so they can outsource more? You really are lost and have no understanding of the way the CBA scope clause works. AA's maintenance costs have actually dropped as stated earlier in the F41 info so your claim of AA spending more is completely false. Hands tied by the language? To the contrary, it seems like the committee isn't even doing anything? Where's the report? It is supposed to come out in Jan and Jul and nobody has seen anything? The local said they are demanding info but they haven't filed one 29d. The attachments state clearly what can be outsourced. It's spelled out. The only thing that is tying the 514s hands is their incompetence or 591's willingness to see overhaul work got out. It's a 29d, Danker, Pike, or GP could file it but they won't.

But even if I buy your statement that the scope clause is bad. It's still way better than the one AMFA put together at NWA. And the lack of enforcement of the IBT clause at AS that cost all the AS OAK overhaul AMTs their jobs. Way to go AMFA!

9/11 was almost 14 years ago.

American Airlines has purchased a lot of new aircraft.

American Airlines has posted record profits.

What American Airlines has NOT done is share that success with their employees.
And the new AA has almost $18 billon in debt on the books.

So 9/11, both Gulf Wars, Jet Fuel prices and SARS, has nothing to do with it right?

Oh and Chapter 11 had nothing also right?
What excuse do you have the the 1983 contract which introduced the B scale and subsequently C scale and began shifting mechanic's work over the ramp? And before you answer "deregulation was the cause," you should supply proof where we catapulted to the top of industry in pay and benefits in exchange for what we gave up.
What excuse do you have for the industry leading 6 1/2% over 6 year contract? You know the one where AA had some pretty profitable years?

So everything I posted in post #198 is still true and your previous post was all false.  Way to avoid the facts that YOU started with...

What you posted was AMFA BS and we all know it.

This is not an AMFA/TWU debate.   The TWU has to support their previous negotiations and industry leading concessions.  Show us all the great accomplishments the TWU has done for the M&R group they represent.  Stop diverting from this or just admit the TWU has brought the whole industry down and we all have suffered from it.

Guarantee me that the TWU International who owns our contract will not accept any concessions and will get us an industry leading JCBA...can you do that?

You all forget its not the just the TWU international, its the Association with the IAM in charge.

Forgot the past and move forward.

Do you really think just because the IAM is now apart of the representation of the new AA that the nego's will now all of a sudden change?  I don't think so...
