Anyone know when or if they have already arrived. I am under the impression that we were getting 2 more for the PVG trip. I just checked the Boeing delivery website, and nothing about AA is mentioned.

I read something that those 2 arrived back in December 2005.

One is coming this week (or maybe just got here). I believe the other one is coming in May.

Nose numbers and registrations are already in FOS -- 7CB (N767AJ) and 7CC (N768AA). 5CB's tentative delivery date is today (Monday).

If they were smart they would be the Flagship Suits. IE 1-2-1 or 16F/C. Since they already stated that they were reconfiguring them all to that configuration.

Exact date is today(March 29). And yes the other one is to be delivered in May.

Yes the new 777's are to have the Flagship Suites. In addtion they will also have the new biz class seats.

While I agree that the new airplanes will debut with Flagship Suites in F, I disagree that they will feature the new J seats from the get-go, since production of the new J seats for the 777s won't begin until around the end of this year. Unless Recaro has already built 35 of the 777 J seats.

It would be nice if they would do something with the 757 First class/ Bus class seats.

Have you seen them? Are they going to be an improvement?

Yep, I saw pre-production mockups - they're similar to the LH business class seats; here's Recaro's page describing the generic lie-flat model (with illustrations):

http://www.recaro-as.com/ras/product-range...l6510/index.htm

AA's seats won't look exactly like those pictures, but close.

Are they gonna be an improvement? Depends on who you ask.

Some people absolutely HATE the lie-flat-at-an-angle seats like these, because your body is on a slant - leading to possible wedgies.

British Airways has already announced its second-generation J completely-flat-horizontal seats, which many people greatly prefer to the angled seats chosen by AA.

My opinion is that AA should reinstall one row of 767-300 coffins (removed in 2003) if it presses forward with these angled J seats. If AA is able to sell significant numbers of the new angled J seats, it ought to be able to upcharge a few (5 or so) of those Full J or D fares into completely flat First Class coffins on the 763s.

UA has kept F on its 763s, so either it's leaving money on the table (by failing to sell sufficient amounts of those F seats) or it has the upper hand on AA yet again.

If AA would adopt the BA-style of J seats (completely flat and horizontal), then there'd be no real need for my idea to reinstall one row of 763 coffins.

I was able to download the demo/graphics of AA's new seat before they password protected the site. If anyone wants it, PM me with your email and I can send it to you.

I misread the part in the Planning section on our M&E site. It said the new 777's are going to GET the Recaro biz class seats. That's what I get for posting when I'm sleep deprived.

7CB was delivered on Thursday the 30th. My guess is that it will be ferried from AFW to ORD to fly the inaugural ORD-PVD route on Sunday the 2nd.

It won't matter. Many will be inop anyways because the AMT's will have ZERO training in how to fix them when they break. But they look good in the HQ lobby.....
