What's new

New AA Union Drive

This drive includes ALL Title I, ALL Title II, Tech Services and fuelers, as set by NMB for craft and class during the AMFA drive. Hope this helps.

Please tell me what this "new" union leadership is going to do that any of the other gutless union leaderships have or have not done. We can piss and moan all we want but as long as the working class idiots keep voting for the GOP and the rest of us are unwilling to walk off the job nothing is going to change. Keep on whining if it makes you feel better... but in the end whining is just talk.

You might try reading AMP's Constitution - you'll find answers to many of your questions there.

The part about recalling ANY National Officer should be especially interesting unless you prefer that those in charge be unaccountable for their actions and sell-outs as are Little Jimmy and his minions of the TWU.

The drive has been very good at TUL. I've spoke and gave out cards to many of the membership. Its going better than we could have thought. The TWU has no clue. Keep it up spread the word. We will make history. Go AMP

Whoa.... This sounds like an AA or TWU (same thing) plant. This grass roots effort will need to stay focused on the end result and boot out the regime that has bent us over for so long. As is the ridiculous T/A these comments divide us further and cloud the issue. It's not a presidential runoff. Start a new thread because this is about AMP. Sigh a card and get off the negative comments.

You guys really want to leave fleet service behind? Seems to me they were the only ones with balls to send the contract back. Remember northworst airlines and see how valuablle fleet service can be in a strike.

That's the problem I had with AMFA - I'll not tolerate an elitist attitude for a minute. One person making a living is no more or less valuable than the other and it requires many people making a living to run an airline.

People who seem to believe they have infinite wisdom continue wishing to cut the numbers of bargaining groups to the bare minimum in hopes they can persuade the company re: how wonderful they are when the reality is they made themselves a smaller bite to deal with and will end up with less after they are chewed up by the company.

There is great strength in numbers and it does take large numbers to deal with all aspects of running an airline - call any person who says otherwise a fool and a liar.

So now your saying we should stay with the TWU, an industrial union? If you didn't like AMFA your sure not going to like AMP.

Take a look at history. Remember when all Title groups were in the same locals? Title I mechanics were usually a minority in each local, with the exception of TUL. Mechanics rarely got elected to local positions because we were greatly outnumbered. Prior to M&R getting our own locals, my president, vice president, treasurer, e-board members were usually aircraft cleaners or fleet service persons. And they usually reminded us "elitists" mechanics that we were no better than anyone else and we all pay the same for a loaf of bread.
Well, I will tell you this...those are part of the good old days I don't miss

Has nothing to do with an elitist attitude, but when you are part of the minority, your voice is rarely heard.

I'm good with our class and craft as it stands.

I'm not sure how you read that into what I wrote.
You said, "One person making a living is no more or less valuable than the other". I could have misinterpreted your meaning. Instead of monetary value, perhaps you meant human value as in respect and dignity? If so, my bad. But, I never sensed that AMFA placed any more or less human value on the less skilled in the MCC. Yes, they promoted more pay for skilled workers but "elitist"? Didn't see it.
