What's new

New AA Union Drive

I am sure we have all learned our lessons from the last drive we had here at AA. The list of all those people that were eligible in the eyes of the TWU, AA and the NMB. Someone out there must still have the list of people that were removed and the reasons why. So if it gets to a filing we will see if those pesky dead people as well as managers and others like TWA retirees that retired well before AA acquired TWA on the list. I remember the TWU making a case to add people that are currently not under the TWU as well as certain fleet service personnel who are not under our class and craft. Hopefully with a more labor friendly government in Washington the road blocks won't be as bad this time around.

We the Amp organizers have all the llist from the last campaign rest assured when the time comes we will be prepared to do battle with the NMB,AAand the TWU you get us the cards we will get you the election I promise just vote no then we will go

Do battle? That's a way to win hearts and mind.

Make it an intellectual decision, and let the other guys get ugly.

I agree with you on this "e". We "battled" with them last time and came up short. It no longer takes much debate and discussion to see where the TWU has left us. If this attempt isnt over in less than 6-9 months then hang it up and wait for the worker to be shafted one more time. The time is right just get the information out quickly and do it without a "battle"

The previous battle did lay tremendous ground work to get this done. Move quick and swiftly and dont spend or waste time debating their few relentless followers.

funny in chicago NO ONE is even talking about this drive

funny in chicago only 22 people showed up for the combined 6 meetings to discuss the TA

funny in chicago not sure if are prez is endorsing the TA or not

funny in chicago I heard there are guys ready to cross the picket (if it comes to that)

funny in chicago guys talk about voteing down the TA and it will never come to a strike we will be saved by a PEB

GOOD LUCK with that last one

personally I voted yes for this TA all ready not because I think its a good deal but because we are so misinformed. when are local prez that was neg. are new contract was clueless about jim little asking to be released from NMB for self help. I voted yes because there is no way I want to see these guys go back to the table and have the dog and pony show continue

funny whos really running the show its not are locals thats for sure

Paul1,

What really is funny is your spelling. There is "are" and "our". But what is even funnier is your claim that you voted yes because you are so misinformed. PRICELESS! I figured you might sell out for a pony ride and a stick of gum but the company/union got you even cheaper.

No one is talking about the drive? Let's see... the organizers kicked the drive off in Tulsa three days ago first and the word is spreading. You heard about it on this web site yet you haven't visited their web site. All you can do is say how funny things are.

Well, you certainly deserve this t/a IF it passes. I on the other hand voted no because I educate myself from different sources. I do not wait to be spoon fed. Funny, huh?

Funny...I got an email forwarded to me about the new union from your eboard. Funny how someone in the windy city knows about the drive.

Walked into my job, with a hanfull of AMP flyers, and not one person knew what I was talking about.

After I ran out of the flyers, I began writing the website onto scraps of paper from my legal pad.

The consensus is that if overhaul is actually on board with change: the line should let them drive it, and, then support the effort.

AA has gotten everything from the TWU, during negotiations, that they threatened to take through Bankruptcy while giving nothing of measureable value in exchange.

This T/A sets old against young, overhaul against line and "LCC employee" against "Legacy employee" within the same Legacy Managed Airline.

As an AMP organizer, we chose to kick it off in Tulsa so the TWU couldn't blanket it with their evil ways. Rest assured, it will make it to the line stations pretty soon. It's only a matter of time before the TWU realizes its bigger than they think it is. In True Solidarity!!!

Thats funny, while I agree there does not seem to much resistance, battle, argument or any other adjective you would like to use in getting people to sign cards this time, if you think for one second that the Company,NMB or the TWU'S political friends are going to roll over and not fight to protect the company whore you boys are on crack,

If I have learned anything in the ten plus years I have been involved, it is there's no sure thing with the NMB. but you guys call it what you like because at the end of the day I know the names of the guys who stepped up one more time and had they not we never would have known it's so easy a caveman could do it.

The reason no one in chicago knows about it is because the fight/battlle/{insert yours here} has always been in Tulsa, so why start in a place we know we have the upper hand why not start in Tuksa and not give them any advance notice by starting elsewhere. we have tried to get a couple of guys interested earlier to be the spokesmen in ORD but we where unsuccesful. if you know someone who wants to step up, have them call the number at the bottom of the website Thanks

A large number of the tulsa membership should have cards now if not by Monday. Alarge mail out hit the P\O Friday. Go to the web site read ask questions then sign a card. Please don't sit on the fence. Let's ask the NMB for a vote. This is a chance to improve our future. Change is not a bad thing. This is the time. Go AMP

Brothers,

"The old story goes that two soldiers were huddled in a foxhole during an artillery bombardment, when the younger one turns to the old sergeant and says he 'don't like it here', so the sergeant replies... "If you know a better foxhole, you'd better climb in it"."

Good Hunting, Good Luck: Bravo Zulu.

Regards,
Boomer

Sense it was TUL that killed AMFA at AA, and it was TUL that voted in the MOAC, I'll get hyped up about a new union when TUL has a majority of TUL mechanics signed up. It seems like the TWU only takes action for us when another union threatens to organize us, like in 2001, to bad AMP didn't come around last year.
