New Uniforms? Stan Herman Collection

Anyone in PIT see the new uniforms?? pics??
I was in the PIT airport this morning and the GA was complaining to other coworkers that several of them went at the indicated times to see the uniforms and they were already packed up and closed, and they didn't get to see them.

Just saw them.... collectively, VERY nice. No pics were allowed until the professional ones are completed, and they will be posted shortly.

Overall, very tasteful. And there are so many pieces that you can mix, you can create a look that fits you. Nice job.

Would you say they are more leisure/West type or closer to East/Professional type. What are the colors? Red, white and blue?

Business casual is it. I thought they were very professional looking. Not "stuffy East Coast", yet not "Tempe..... can we get it for less?" either......

I also saw them today in PHL. They finished up early in PHL too. The uniforms are still navy. There was a navy suit that looks similar to what we have now. The pants and the skirt both have elastic in the waist on the inside. The outside looks normal. That is a plus because if you gain a few pounds you will still fit in your uniforms. The jacket has lots of pockets on the inside, including one for your pens. It looked like there were two pockets on the outside of the suit. The jacket was light weight. The pants have a back pocket. There was also a two piece suit that was navy. I wasn't too crazy about it. A lot of people seemed to really like it but I would not be caught dead in it. I just thought it looked frumpy. Maybe once I try it on I will change my mind. I would have to do a lot of tailoring to the top. The material is stretchy. The top is also short sleeves, so I might have to wear a sweater over it on the airplane. I don't think it was designed for that though. The navy is lighter/brighter than what we currently have.

There were three blouses. One was white, one was light blue, and the other was white with blue "heritage" stripes. They were more form fitting than the boxes we have now. They had a collar, but it doesn't come all the way down like the ones we have now do. That will be so much better. You can choose from a short sleeve or 3/4 length sleeve. I like that because I always roll my sleeves up.

There are two cardigan sweater sets. One is light blue and the other is regular blue. There aren't any navy sweater sets. I think they should have a navy set, but they don't. I personally think they would look better with a black skirt rather than navy. In any case, I will be ordering a set of each if I can. I like them.

There was a navy skort. Ugh! I wouldn't be caught dead in a skort, EVER!

There was a zip up blazer. I liked it. It will need some tailoring.

There was also a regular blue (not navy) zip up dress. I really liked it a lot. I will definitely be ordering several of those. It doesn't ride up when you lift your arms up either. It had a nice lining that won't make you sweat to death like and stick to you like our current dresses.

The men's apron is the same style as ours and the women's is a wrap apron. I think they are regular blue too.

There are two scarves. One is navy and regular blue. The other one is light blue with blue trim and colorful little airplanes on it.

There were polo shirts which were nice but they don't match the navy pants at all. I refuse to wear navy pants with a light blue and regular blue polo shirt. It just didn't match. The shirt itself was nice though.

The men have a regular navy suit.

They also have a mock turtleneck. I liked it so much that I wrote on the survey I think women should have one. The one thing that made me laugh was when the guy put on a sweater over his mock turtleneck. I thought the outfit looked like something Spock would wear on Star Trek. LOL!
They don't know whether they will have short or long sleeve mock t-necks yet.

They had short and long sleeve shirts for the men.

Overall, I liked the new uniforms. I am not excited about them, but I did like them.

Some of the complaints I heard in the crewroom following the fashion show were (These aren't my opinions):

There wasn't any red.

They weren't colorful enough. We should have more color such as teal, red, lime green, regular green, or gold.

They look too much like what we have now.

There aren't enough accessories to go with it.

I am Glad to see they went to PHL and didn't check it thru baggage claim. :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh: :bleh:

Are the pants pleated like what we currently have or are they flat in the front like our old ones? Are the legs straighter than what we currently have? When you say sweater sets, is one sleeveless or is is short sleeve? What does the sweater set look like?

I forgot to add that they do look nice. There are some very sharp, professional pieces. I was afraid they were going to look too casual, but they didn't. If you want to look more dressed up for international travel you can. If you want to wear the zip up dress and look like a lady, you can. If you want to look like a librarian and wear the sweater sets, you can. I am so happy we won't be looking like Southwest wearing shorts, polos, and tennis shoes! They look a lot better than what we wear on the "east" side.

The colors are: navy, regular blue, light blue, and white.

Also, they haven't decided who is going to wear what. They showed lots of different uniform pieces for flight attendants and CSRs. We won't know who is wearing what until later. I guess they will take our feedback and figure it out.

We will do our uniform fittings this summer and they will test them out. They hope to have the uniforms available for us to wear in January 08.

Hopefully they will be flat. That was a question on the survey and most people verbally told him they wanted pants that were flat in the front. I can't remember whether the legs were straighter than the ones we have now. I hope so because tapered pants don't look good on anybody. They should be illegal! 😀 The pants looked about the same to me. The sweater sets have a short sleeve sweater. The long sleeve sweater zips up. They weren't too tight or form fitting but they weren't extremely loose or "boxy" either. I thought the material was too thick for summer. One set was light blue and the other regular blue. The material is nothing like the sweaters we have now.

The waistband on the pants is lower than what we have now. It looked nice. The legs of the pants are a little wide for my tastes, but I am old. =)

I like the 2 piece dress, skirts, shirts, and sweater sets.

The zipper front dress looked really good on the girl wearing it, but would not look nearly as cute on me.

The jacket had a stripe on the sleeve.

Zipper jacket was cute, but not my style.

The only pieces I did not like were the zipper vest and skorts.

It looks like there is something for everybody.

The blue on blue colors look sharp IMO.

Men have zip up vests too, which were pretty nice.

The female dress was HOT. He did say he constructed it to fit the "larger" sizes, but my advice would be to maybe use your own judgment... Some girls will look great in it, tho. ...

The thing about this uniform, is you can layer pieces, take pieces away, etc. Men can wear the mock turtleneck (which was actually nice! Surprised me, too...) with the cardigan over it, etc....

I was disappointed about the lack of a lot of colors in the main pieces, but remember, we have to be in this uniform for awhile, and the basic pieces are timeless. Ties, scarves, and sweaters can be changed through the life of the uniform, and the pieces will still mesh.

Nice job overall.

I think the uniform presentation was MUCH better than what we have an would agree with most of what I have read here so far. In my own opinion I think there should be a hint of red in there somewhere. I know Delta has red but we have red in our uniform as well. Though the design is great and the choices are many there is just too much blue on blue on blue on blue. It needs just a splash of red in my opinion. I say well done but hope for it to be tweeked a bit.
