I'm really not too surprised by the NMB's position... Either the NMB truly believes that AA's unions demands will kill the company, or you guys are being used as pawns to stop anything else bad from happening under Obama's watch.

I'd still like to trust that the board is doing their job, but one of the potential downsides of the NMB being appointees of the current administration is that there is always the chance they won't rock the boat for the guy who put them in their job...

It really doesn't matter release or not,its just a matter of time.This company is in Eastern Airlines territory.It gets worse everyday!

<_< ------- The anti-Unionists are on a roll here in the the U.S. And I'm not talking Republican, or Democrat.----- A plaque be on both their heads! ------ It seems our Kenyan President has decided he has enough on his plate right now, and has put out the word that he doesn't want, or need, more with a major disruption of what the general public has come to perceived their right to cheap air fairs! -------- As for Obama, you voted him in, I didn't!
 
The documentation has been produces to verify Obama's claim that he was born in the United States and is thus qualified to be president under the constitution.

It is very possible that the NMB is laying a tad low since Congress has asked for an investigation of the NMB, including wanting to know the basis for the NMB changing the voting rules which were used in the DL AFA and IAM representation elections - which ultimately didn't change the outcome but which could affect other carriers.

I'm not sure that the NMB is trying to protect the damage to AA should a strike occur but I am sure they are well aware of it and if it ever gets to the point of one, said President will likely invoke his authority to protect AMR and the traveling public.

So, the 8 year long stalemate between AA and its labor unions continues while competitors continue to grow in key AA markets and AA's financial results trail the industry.

Obama was tested alright. While Libya was slaughtering its citizens, he took his wife, kids, and a bunch of his corporate sponsors on a boondoggle to Rio. Less than 48 hours after Japan was crippled by an earthquake and tsunami of a epic proportion, he was golfing at Andrews, on ESPN giving his NCAA bracket picks, and on the radio talking about paycheck equality for women.

Yes, this President has been tested. And flunked.

And look at Bush II, he spent more time away on vacation than any other President, and we were fighting two wars, so I guess he majorly flunked according your YOU'RE thinking.

I guess the world revolves around Crawford, TX being the new White House, Pentagon and Government Center for the US.
 
C'mon, UW. You don't think that while Fukushima was becoming Cherynobyl-On-The-Sea that Obama couldn't have changed the focus of his weekly (pre-recorded) radio address and actually done it live? How much have we seen him on TV with all the Libya stuff, and how much have we seen Hillary?

She's been the one acting Presidential. Bush didn't pawn off his TV time to his cabinet in times of crisis, be it local or global. Or maybe that was just poor delegating skills on his part...

I am not getting into all of the conspiracy theories of his citizenship etc.... he was elected the President of the United States by its people. Whether you or I or anyone else likes his policies doesn't change the fact that he is the president and all of the world including those who didn't elect him will live with whatever decisions he and his administration makes.

Speciific to this discussion, the NMB appears to have pulled back on its zeal for changing historic norms in the airline industry. Whether that continues or is validated remains to be seen but my point still remains that the NMB used alot of its political capital to try to change the outcome of the Delta representation elections, efforts which resulted in no change in the outcome.

All of us only have so much political capital to burn and it appears that whatever help AA's unions might have wanted from the NMB will have to give way to more traditional relationships between the airline industry and its labor unions....

<_< ------- WT, Sorry! But what the State of Hawaii put forth was not his "original" Birth Certificate.And Obama has expended a lot of resources to keep it that way! Both politically in the way of defending against numerous law suits, http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=e17_1280848849 But I agree, at this point in time, if proven in fact he is not a legal president under our Constitution, would through our legal system, and Country, into chaos! Something I feel we don't need in these troubling times!----- Hell, I feel we have enough on our plates as it is!------ As for the NMB, I thought they were "supposed to" be a neutral party? But obviously, it would seem, we're playing with a staked deck here! And more politics are factoring into their decisions that they like to admit to.
