There were several threads about the "No Brainer" back in early summer. Here's a link to one of them...

NO MANGEMENT...NO BRAINS

JennyAnn,

The plane had major structural repairs done to it. It needs to be reinspected every year, it is not cost-effective to paint it and strip it every year.

Maybe it will be one of the 15 returned to GE in 2006/2007.

Whatever.......It looks like Hell!!!!

Maybe RSA holds the lease and we will be forced to keep the a/c!! 😛

Are you saying these aircraft have cracks in the fuselage and they can't fully paint them because they have to be continually inspected for safety?

It had scribe marks and some cracks, they were ALL repaired but they have to have annual inspections.

No it had cracks in the fuselage that were repaired. The repairs need to be insepected and the skin checked for possible future discrepancies.

It had cracks along the lap joint. A repair was written and approved by our engineering dept and the FAA and was accomplished and now the aircraft is subject to re checks as precautionary.

I recently read an article (USA Today perhaps) that stated that this AD was going to be extended to all 737s, not just those affected by the current AD.
