Re: AA Contract Vote- Marching Forward
Please post on all TWU bulletin boards and websites

Our contract votes are in, and now we must re-start the contract campaign. We
will continue to push forward to secure an equitable agreement, to be
recognized for our sacrifices, and most importantly to stop the continuing
erosion of the future of all airline professionals.
Our next steps must be initiated immediately. I have asked the ATD to call
for an urgent meeting of the entire team to develop a renewed strategic plan.
While the team will help design our campaign, there are four changes I am
instituting now until we can fully review the current negotiating structure at
AA.
1. There will be two equal co-chairs of the team, one from ATD staff and
another elected by the team. This hopefully avoids much of the
miscommunications we are currently experiencing.
2. The co-chairs will BOTH attend their meetings with the company and
the NMB with no exceptions.
3. We will also make sure that every member of the negotiating team is
fully engaged in the process and demonstrates their ability to get real
time information to our members at the drop of a hat. As an example:
having dedicated team captains in the field to disseminate the
information directly from the negotiating committee.
4. 1 have asked the ATD to provide additional electronic communications
sent out as the “Contract Connection” after every negotiating session.
Regardless of how you voted, the time is now to be more united than
ever. The company may be counting on us to fight one another and
destroy ourselves from within; I can assure you that will not happen
unless you and I allow it to happen.
Again, now that the membership has spoken, we must put the past behind us
and come together and speak with ONE VOICE with the ultimate goal to get
the best contract we can for our members.
“We Move America”
The ride is not going to be easy, but we are in this together for as long as it
takes. It is a proven fact that ‘United We Stand, Divided We Fall”.
In solidarity and fraternally,

Apply a little pressure called AMP and all the sudden we have a voice they will give us info at the drop of a hat. I feel better already!

Where was all this during the last two years ?

I say do not trust Jim Little TURN UP THE AMP!!!

I don't care what the TWU does it's to late !!
I'm going with AMP all the way .... AMP IT UP !!!
Lets get those cards signed and in the mail !!!!

It's amazing how a different tune is sung. Amazing

IT all sounded interesting to me until I got to the new slogan at the bottom. Then I knew this was all talk.
"We Move America" That'll show 'em

This is for the negotiators:

Your next proposal is already printed, the 2001 contract with an addendum:
1. 18.5% increase in base pay, as adjusted for for inflation
2. "Me Too" Clause
3. Maintain 2009 Medical Benefits & COSTS!
4. NO SEPARATION/ SPINOFF Clauses. An AMT is an AMT, either on the Line or at the Maintenance Base
5. AE ASMs will be CAPPED at 2008 levels!!!
6. Signing BONUS $15,000

Fellow Bloggers, PLEASE ADD YOUR DEMANDS!!

This guy could not be more of a moron even if he tried.

Is this guy for real ? ? ?

"We Move America" That'll show 'em

Now thats a good one. Allmost as good as "we'll get em next time"

😀 😀 😀

Totally agree with bravozulu@afw, very well put !!!!

..........Don't forget that LANGUAGE is extremely important. The definition of BASE could possibly turn a Class I station doing a B check into a BASE....Hence enabling the company to use ASMs at these locations.

..........Get rid of the permanent probation for crew chiefs. Alot of mechanics may have different opinions regarding this issue, but you may bid for a CC slot one day and may fall victim to a company witch hunt to weed out NON-COMPANY-YES MEN...
NO UNION MEMBER SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO A PERMANENT PROBATION!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have 6 months to evaluate someone and get rid of him/her at will. ...

<_< ------- How about just getting reed of the ASM classification altogether? --------ASM's you're now AMT's! Hell, that would be just too simple!

Jim Little has come out with some changes to the negotiating committee before getting back together with AA later this month. The surveys for local 514 are due back by the third. This will give our local time to review and list by priority the recommendations from the membership. Jim Little is correct! Now is not the time to get distracted by outside and inside influences. Be firm and tell these individuals who are trying to destroy our profession from within to get lost.

I want to thank Jim Little for coming to Tulsa and talking with the shop stewards and now standing firm on his commitment to make changes.

On the chance you've not been keeping up with current events, that's why the AMP fellows are collecting cards for a representational election. It's to tell those who want to lowball all trades within American Airlines to either straighten up immediately (if not sooner) and become accountable to your membership or go away.

It's rather evident how out of touch the TWU has become with its membership as it's evident the TWU International has never had to deal with any group (in my 20+ years of employment, anyway) that wasn't willing to sell out its junior members to get an extra piece of raisin pie. Here's your wakeup call, CIO and Little Jimmy - business as usual no more - that's what just happened.

I do believe some of the union slogans re: unity that have been tossed about to make the membership believe have finally sunk in. The TWU has been identified as an enemy by those that weren't for sale (66% by the TA vote), equal in infamy to the corporation it's in bed with. It's very much like the TWU's belief of "Repeat something often enough and people will believe it" - you "gentlemen" should be more careful re: what you'd have your serfs believe.

If the TWU is unwilling to become accountable for its collective actions at all levels, it will eventually be replaced as bargaining agent, perhaps by AMP, perhaps by another entity that so far is nameless, but at any rate, the TWU ATD will take quite a haircut re: dues lost because of the International's stupidity and greed.

Unless Little is willing to make permanent changes to the TWU via its Constitution making its International group of "personnel" (better words are available but I choose not to use them) totally accountable by direct vote of the membership, these changes really don't amount to a pint of piss and are simply for show, hoping the latest challenge to its supposed "power" will eventually run out of steam.

Re: the surveys - isn't what's really being said "Please fill this out and help us in getting you the absolute minimum that will get a TA passed by a majority of one vote."? That's most certainly what it says to me.

The TWU knows full well what the membership wants - they needn't pass out questionaires to tell them the obvious. If they aren't up to the job, that's too damned bad and they need to go away - NOW!

Now thats funny, I don't care who you are ! You can't tell me you post with a straight face. Are you Jim Little?

Six months is too short... a lot of employees take six months to figure out what the job is. It's during the second six months where they start to figure out where and how they can slack off and get away with it.... 12 month probation might make that a little easier to nip in the bud.
