OCC LAYOFFS

I think most Dispatchers would have transferred to CLT.

But my biggest problem with PIT is work ethic. I have never encountered a more stubborn set in their ways and bitter group of employees. And what really shocked me is it has little to do with the current merger and every thing to do with past histories. Some going back 10-20 years. Most people in this business are “Airlineâ€￾ people; it is in their blood. That does not seem to be the case for, many PIT employees. Most are there because US was the big local employer. I am amazed at how many PIT people I talk to that never ever travel and they work for an Airline? If you work in this biz and don’t do it for the Non-Rev benefits I can understand being unhappy.

The whatever number it is meeting of the Pittsburgh Haters Club is now in session.

President Spanky presiding.

Secretary Alfalfa, please read the minutes of the last meeting.

At the last meeting we hated Pittsburgh. The sun doesn't shine there enough, they have green things growing, they are older and smarter than us. A motion was made to hate Pittsburgh, it passed unanimously. Then we went outside to play.

This has nothing to do with hating on PIT.
Just my opinon that it is a stratigic mistake for the company to continue to have a lot of employees there. I also think is is a mistake to have so many East & West offices. Many in PHX and PIT should close and be comsolidated in CLT. I am also only referencing the Tech Ops area which I am most familiar with. And on a side note the FAA CMO should not be in PIT either, ClT or at Corp. That is probably why we still have all those offices there to begin with.

Oh, I agree....no one's hating on PIT.

It's just gone.

Tech Ops should be on the east coast anyway. Always should have been.

The He-Man Pittsburgh Haters Club wishes to issue a retraction.

Director of Public Relations and Corporate Lies Froggy stated.

"We don't hate on Pittsburgh. We just think the people who live there are lazy and surly. Any one thinking our previous comments indicate we hate them has taken our position out of context. Now we have to go out and play."

Who would ever want to leave Pit and not ever get anymore good food??? Stay in Pit--either take the buyout and be happy again---or move to Tempe and sweat to death.

because a friend of a friend of a friend who worked out west as a flight attendant said we were bad.

I don't know about that. I have heard horror stories from people I have known for years that when furloughed went to AW. *shrug*

Horror story = not liking an assignment you get, but blaming the scheduler for doing their job.

Hey management . I'm sorry upnaway..

what utter B/S .. over half of those fine folks in PIT came from a once great airline called PIEDMONT.

so learn your history.

They probably were horror stories from their perspective. But there are always two sides to the story and in most cases (not all) the horror stories are fabrications to make the person telling them look good in the eyes of their fellow workers.

You think incorrectly.

I am gonna say my peace about PIT. Most of the employees from the PIT area are not only hard workers but are more educated and therefore more in tune to speaking their mind when they see crap. Call it stubborn or rusthead mentality, but I am sure this doesn't go down well with their less educated counterparts in the sandpile. The thing is while they may love their job they love the PIT area more and because they are smarter than most won't follow this dog crap of a company across the country. They'll rebuild right here in PIT and be much better off.

There you go.

Later,

THERE IS A BUYOUT BEING OFFERED FOR CREW SCHEDULERS IN PIT.i HEAR THAT THERE ARE GOING TO BE MORE THAN ENOUGH TO TAKE THE BUYOUT.iT SEEMS THAT A LOT OF SCHEDULERS CANNOT HANDLE THE WEST MANAGEMENT STYLE AND JUST WANT TO GET OUT.

You've heard wrong. West management has little to no interaction with East scheduling. As for the West schedulers,
very few are from PHX. The West schedulers are mostly east employees recalled from furlough from other departments, transfers from other departments, or hired off the street. These schedulers also are not having trouble with west management "style". East and West schedule under one roof.

There are 7 vol. seps being offered. If more than 7 express an interest, the seperation will be offered in seniority order. 14 people from various positions within the scheduling department are being displaced to crew sched. There are 7 positions available.....hence the 7 seps being offered.
