Maybe we already saw the October surprise -- it was back on on October 3rd, with the realization that the Emperor Has No Clothes...
Gloria Allred fizzled -- she tried to use Axelrod's favorite ploy, but it backfired. The judge only allowed Romney's testimony to be released, which was useless out of context with the divorce proceedings.
Trump got his 12 hours of fame, and was promptly ignored.
Hillary Clinton's essentially been in hiding with Susan Rice.
Maybe Sandy's the October Surprise?...

I don’t think so E. I think the October surprise will actually come on Friday with October’s jobs report. I think we will see an adjustment to the job numbers that will cause the unemployment rate to jump up to 8 or 8.1 %. I see the administration trying to delay the report release until after the election.

As far as the polls go, here is my experience.....
Wife and I are registered independant. 4 or 5 days ago we got call from one of the polling outfits. Said who they were (don't remember which one off hand) asked if i had time for a 5 minute poll regarding president, and congressional voting intentions etc. Was to be a 5 question poll about president, House and senate, and state govener.
After the standard "are you going to vote this year" stuff first question "Are you going to vote for President BARAK OBAMA, or gov. romney" capitals denote where the emphasis was in the pollers voice.
My answer was Gov Romney.........<silence for a bit> "Umm are you sure you are going to vote for romney?" me: yes <a bit more silence>........<click> as he hung up.
Guess he didn't want me to answer the other 4 questions. I am guessing that means that I am not included in the latest NC state poll numbers out there. Guess I didn't help the correct candidates numbers.

Gives credence to the hows and whys polling numbers favor Obama. Consistently poll more D's than R's.......or drop those who don't drink the koolaid.

One other interesting item:
I voted early last week due to work schedule on nov6. My wife voted friday due to same reasons.
When my wife was in line, about an hour wait, candidates were there handing out their info as usual. An African american gentleman that is running for county school board gave my wife his flyer, which is not unusual in itself. (Flyer was non partisan) the unusual part is that 2 people in line before my wife was an African american guy and the person in line behind my wife was African american lady. In addition to the county school board flyer he also gave a second flyer highlighting the democrat ticket for the county, state, and national election.
My wife kept tabs on who got what until she was too far along in line to see. Same thing all the way back. Caucasions got the one, African Americans got both.
And no my wife didn't have a big romney button on or any kind of political clothing or sign.
