I've been doing some research and found that Omaha may possibly be the only city in the entire United States for Delta that has both above and below wing positions outsourced to a NON-Delta company. Delta is handled above and below wing by Skyway (a subsidiary of Midwest). Is there any other city in the US that DL has another airline (not including DL connection carriers like OH,EV,OO,etc) handling not only the ramp but also the ticket counter/gates/BSO? I can't find any. Also, why OMA, especially since it has about 4-5 mainline flights per day?

Are you counting pre-merger NW cities too?

Anyway, as for OMA specifically, awhile back there was a sort of quid pro quo wherein NW was going to handle YX in several cities, and they would handle us (NW). I know OMA was one of the ones on the list (at the time, the vendor for NW was having serious issues).

Maybe this is just a holdover from that? Maybe the contract hasn't run out yet? Just 2 thoughts.

Also, I think that BUF, ROC, GEG, GPT & VPS are outsourced (above & below) for DL?

Skyway was the NW handler pre-merger. Comair was the DL handler at that time. Both companies bid and Skyway underbid Comair by mucho deniro and won it for another 3 years. I just can't find any other city where a non-delta company handles above wing, especially where there are so many mainline flights per day.

I know that BUF and ROC has mainline agents above wing. Not sure on GEG. GPT was ASA and went to Pinnacle and VPS, also ASA, went to Mesaba. So aside for GEG which I'm unsure about, the rest are not outsourced above wing.

ROC is outourced above and below wing to XJ and OH soon to be RHS. ABE and BIS

Okay well still... I'm talking about cities that are handled by non-delta operating companies. XJ and OH are both operating airlines for DL so I can understand them handling above wing. Even when they become RHS, there are owned by Delta so I don't consider that 100% outsourcing. Not including connection carriers, are there any cities that have NON-DELTA vendors handling above wing? I still think there isn't other than OMA.

Is Myrtle Beach still Skywest affiliate ASA above wing? Although DL doesn't run mainline flights there I believe NW still has mainline flight(s) into MYR.

No. MYR is Comair now. And no, there are no mainline flights in MYR.

Listen folks, I'm looking for cities were the above wing handlers are anyone other than Delta or Delta Connection employees. I still don't think there are any.

MYR for NW varies between DC9's & E75's depending on time of year...

If what you say about the 5 cities I mentioned is correct (and it very well may be-my info is from 4/08), then OMA is probably the last one...

While we're on it, what about some of the mountain west cities? BIL, BZN, FCA, GTF, JAC, HLN, etc. Are those all "in the family?"

Only other exception would be any stations still handled by 9E. Yes, they're a connection carrier, but not a wholly owned in the way that OH & XJ are.
