What's new

PHL Inflight Director has left the building

I don't have a clue. I bet Beachboy doesn't have a clue either. double

I don't have a clue, I don't want to buy a clue and you can tell Vanna she can stay put. There is no interest in solving the puzzle. He is gone. Let him take his nice guy personality somewhere else. Best of luck Dave! Cio!

I never had any personal problem with him but that doesn't mean there weren't issues with his position. Word is (and it's just word) that Hector asked for his resignation. If Hector didn't ask for him to step down why did this happen so suddenly? Dave didn't just decide to leave. There is a reason for everything. Hector to date has shown more experience and know how than anyone before him.

Generally speaking in many companies there are usually only 2 reasons a guy at his level gets gone. First and usually the reason is a political termination. When I saw politics I mean something as simple as Hector putting his own people. Second reason is somebody got caught with their fingers in the cookie jar.

You forgot about Reason #3: Getting paid too much, and doing too little. (Of course, we all know that most people who fit this description don't ever get shown the door. )

What has Hector done since he has been here for a year?

Service has NOT changed!
Glasswear on domestic flights has NOT returned!
We are STILL at the bottom of customer complaints!
Morale still Sucks!

So? What has Hector Really done other than send out a couple of meaningless memos!!

Folks,

A number of posts on this thread have been removed because they violate the rules of the board, which are now posted as an announcement. You may NOT make disparaging remarks about or make personal remarks aimed at specific posters.

Please stay on the topic of the individual's ALLEGED removal from his position.

Thank you.

We must not forget that Hector is very experienced. And we are talking about the base director for the major base operation of our airline. A director who is responsible for three thousand flight attendants, and many flight attendant supervisors...... Put it into perspective......

Actually we haven't been on the bottom of the list of customer complaints for quite some time now. Delta and Northwest have had that honor. We've made many improvements. Since you seem hell bent on either not seeing them and hatin' on Hector I won't bother listing them. In any case it's not relative. Despite both of our personal feelings on the matter, the only ones who know why he's leaving are Hector and Dave. And perhaps it should stay that way.

Judging from the last Crew News, it sounds like two more directors might be shown the door. Could this be the end of the gravy train for PK? Has Hector finally figured that one out?

I don't know Hector or Dave from Adam, and I certainly have no idea what brought about Dave's termination. But if Hector has set performance metrics, and for whatever reason Dave has not met them -- and has not provided an explanation as to why -- perhaps the job is best suited to someone who can meet those targets. And that can only be a good thing for US, right?

The Base Director is only as good as his/her Inflight staff. From what I've seen from PHL Inflight there leaves a lot to be desired in regards to professionalism, dedication, consistency, and over knowledge of the Supervisor position. Hopefully Hector will weed out the Inflight Staff in PHL next! B)

Maybe it’s because of the coffee drama in the crew room

Fa88,
Alot that you mention above Hector wants to change .. Its the fact that Parker and Kirby won't give him the financial ok to do it. He has gone to them many times to put back glass wear on domestic. Parker and Kirby simply won't budge .As far as service, All f/a will be going through service training this year. Morale , well that's another issue my friend .

Etops- 100% right. Hector has hit a wall at every turn. Called SCOTT KIRBY. I really hope Hector stays classy and doesn't lower himself to the likes of Doug and Scott. If they ever ask him too I hope he packs his desk and tells us all how sorry he is but we are run by cheap morons with no sense of customer service. That said Hector is too classy for that. Some of us know him on another level and we know the score.

There are so many new ones now that were hired in the last few months that have never been with the company. It should be interesting seeing how this works out. So who is worth keeping?
