So if we cancel flights and can't protect passengers on our own flights, the unions would rather see us protect them on other airlines???
Did you ever thank that maybe the schedulers, many of whom alo haven't had days off around the holidays, had to work an extremely long day as well? Some were called in on their days off, or from vacation, to help out.
No, what we want is for schedulers to abide by the CBA. If we time out, we time out. We are not machines, at some point a person can become so fatigued that they are no longer safe to fly. Remember....safety first.
Sounds like you schedulers need to unionize and get yourselves a contract...then they wouldn't be calling you to *gasp* work on a "day off" or "vacation day". 🙂
Sorry, but don't think you'll find much sympathy for crew scheduling on this forum....
