HP 757's Perpetual Maintanance

Don't you mean all connections were made by the LCC team? I thought HP was no more.

Nope, still the HP staff until April 9th, thats when the CS intergration happens. In DCA only HP works their few flights.

Can't the part come from PIT,CLT or PHL?

Question: Although the A/C is still under separate certificates, wouldn't any parts have to come from the West; as this was HP metal?

Parts are loaned or borrowed between airlines all the time.........even between US Airways East and West.

Come on West Guys, Are You forgetting how to fix the 757?

You only need 2 things, that fixes all.
1-A Hammer
2-Duct Tape

3-Super Glue (If you want to be Neat)

Disclaimer: Only meant as a joke. The planes are almost as old as when Jimmy Carter was in office. :cold:

East's leases are so good we're going to loose a good many more of our 75's to the likes of FedEx in next year of two. Understand Boeing and AB are not eating together at Pinnacle Peak but sure spending lots of time in PHX--hope BOEING smells blood at deal time.

try this one

http://www.airlinerlist.com/

click on the dowbload spread sheet for the 757 and scroll to the top and work down, someone has WAYYYYYY too much time on their hands, HP's oldest, N913AW is build number 22207, that was first delivered to EA in 84, some of US's were deliverd to EA shortly before. Most of HP's came from republic.....

East 757's are not all old EAL.
Those were 600-609. 610-634 were new deliveries from Boeing.
The last 4 delivered are being ETOP'd.
Don't know the re-numbers.

618 was an EAL bird, 600 was the first production 757 delivered to EA.

East doesn't keep 757 parts in DCA.. the planes don't go there. Had it been an A320 and wasn't a problem with the motors, I think East could have sent MX guys over there and got it fixed..

Appears it ain't just US......
From the UAL Board, 04/07/07:

Yesterday between LAX and DEN so many planes on the TV monitor was delayed due to mechanical. After 4hr delay over 757 mechanical late arrival from SEA. Once it arrived into LAX, it had the same mechanical again. Once we got to Denver last night our 757 on decision to SJC was 2hrs late. Next the crew desk paged us to relieve another 757 crew on mechanical to OMA. We got on the OMA flight to relieve the f/a crew and
the agent came next to tell us the plane was going to hangar for repairs. It took 12hours from LAX-DEN- SJC hmmmm I mean now OMA
and 4 757 airplanes by the time we finally took off. Oh.. get this we had to wait one hour to get a fueler to fuel the aircraft finally. Is this how it's going to be now at ual. Instead of the passenagers upset with csr and crew my best answer now to them is to write UNITED.COM Tilton and ask him why he doesn't give back some money and buy new airplanes or give us a bonus for all this drama. Oh- I am not even on reserve and this is how our contract is now. No such thing as line holders anymore.
WHAT HAPPEN TO IT"S TIME TO FLY ??? Tilton, wake up and don't make us look like Northwest... Those Global Service people are starting to get tired of this mess and will switch over to American or Delta or Maybe CO since they are ranking the top now

Hmm..... 😱

East has plenty of 757 parts on the east coast the do operate over 20 of them with plenty of spare parts, guess no one thought to check with US/East MTC Control on parts availability.

East has the first 757s ever produced, they came from EA.
Don't be so sure about the parts, since everything is now vendored parts are not as easy to get as once before, from the engine side any way line mx is constantly robbing parts from the shop! And if it were an ETOPS 757 that makes things even trickier!

Many of the West 757s are from Eastern Airlines.
Amazing that we are flying these old birds across the Pacific over to Hawaii on a daily basis!

I worked on one my last trip they took our good plane (ac 904) to give to the KOA flight that did a turn back due to hydrallic leak and had to burn fuel for 3hrs (ac 901 Arizona flag paintjob)

Our FLL flight was scheduled for a 3pm departure...we left at 730pm because we had to await the DCA flight to arrive back in PHX so we would have a working aircraft to take.

Reason we were short 2 - 757s since 2 of them were over in the islands broken down. Parts for them were on the ac that returned to PHX.

Interesting the aircraft we took (ac 913) had in inop video system..so no movie. Outbound flight 2days later. (Ac905)..no working video system so two aircraft with broken movie system again!

What an embarrassement...long haul and no movie.

I think another poster is right...we were known as America Worst back in 2000, seems we are repeating that year with the NEW US Airways!

Actually, there are three 757s from EAL, none of which are ETOPS. The rest are from Republic or Boeing which do operate ETOPS.

As for 757s operating in the islands, I think nine maximum available planes covering four Hawaiian destinations from two hubs with something like fourteen legs a day is spreading things out pretty thinly. Add to that that HNL needs to be made into a manned maintenance station to cover all the islands (more staff and parts and tools, please).

I sure hope we get some 787s and/or 737 NGs soon.

WE only have 3 planes that were Eastern (913,914,915) and non are etops they are the oldest in the fleet.
(901-906 were Republic and the others were our orders and they were bult as etops a/c.

We in Maint have been telling mgm that these plane are run down and need replaced but they have no clue. the only way these plane could be good is to do what the cargo outfits are doing, completly rebuild them. Bill Franke let these planes go to crap he refused to do the mods and we were told by Boeing that it would be cheeper to replace them then doing the mods that were past due. no the plan per the uppers is to bring the newer planes from the east side to use for the Hawaii flts. after the combine the cert. what a joke its time to get some new planes to replace these older planes.
