(2) Is taking medication or receiving other treatment for a medical condition that results in the person being unable to meet the requirements for the medical certificate necessary for the pilot operation.
....

Ya know, I just ain't feeling so good. Cheers.

This isn't some 85 year old man's fault. It is the fault of ALPA from altering the merger policy from DOH in the early nineties and making it dependent on which arbitrator is picked or who argues the screwing the best.

I think you can thank your UAL brethren for that one.

Sadly everyone is to reap what UAL sowed. This travesty may have the deepest impact for those at US and US east particularly but as we saw with the CH 11's, post 9/11, what effects one, effects all. I fully believe the results of this will affect the rest of us around the industry and collectively and sadly, we all deserve it.

You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3

Everyone should be aware that it is common to replace God with a career (god). It is these folk who I am very concerned for as they have lost thier god. Many stories of terrible events following situations like these.
These career expectations of the East f/o have been so hampered that Prayer for them is justified.

What terrible events are your refering to? These are professionals with families. Other than the senority list what could be a more terrible event?

Well i did not want to say it but there have been suicides and divorces in the past to name the 2 most disturbing.

Well she only wanted me for the money. When it stopped so did she. Methinks there is a title for that.

Look we are talking about futures not immediate lose of income. If someone divorces you over pay increases letm go and consider yourself lucky it didn't take longer.
If Parker sofens the blow with $1,000's more per month per pilot you'll see financial planning take off not divorce and suicide.
This is a #### and I hate the crap our people have already taken but, there could be a silver lining come May 8th. Check it out first. But, use your oxygen just in case the air is thin.

It's balls to the walls boys and girls. Time to put up, not shut up. This is abuse of hard working, loyal employees -- this cannot be tolerated at ANY level. Good luck, man.

Compliments of a good post on another board.

"Award" is right. Congrats to the west folks on their immense windfall.

This is really sad. I expected nothing for us '99 furloughees, but to have an East pilot with over 18 years of active service junior to a West 2005 hire? YGBFSM!

BTW, does anyone else find it suspicious that the award comes just prior to a company contract proposal? Seems likely the company knew of this outcome and has planned the timing of all this. Should be interesting to see what they offer.

It seems my crummy pilot job at American Eagle would provide more enjoyment and upward movement than returning to LCC. That's pretty damn sad. Maybe that corporate Chief Pilot I just spoke with will hire me and I can rid myself of the nightmare of my airline "career".

Best of luck to us all. We're gonna need it.

ALPA merger policy is for DOH not to disregard other factors, if brought up.
Huh? Where do people get this stuff?

ALPA Merger Policy:
5. The merger representatives shall carefully weigh all the equities inherent in their merger situation. In
joint session, the merger representatives should attempt to match equities to various methods of integration until a fair and equitable agreement is reached, keeping in mind the following goals, in no
particular order:

a. Preserve jobs.
b. Avoid windfalls to either group at the expense of the other.
c. Maintain or improve pre-merger pay and standard of living.
d. Maintain or improve pre-merger pilot status.
e. Minimize detrimental changes to career expectations.

As someone riding in the back I realize that this is a huge issue. I ask that the professionalism that has always been evident w/ the pilot group continue under these trying times. Remember Santa Rosa.
