Pilot seniority arbitration award is out

If it wasen't for us you wouldn't have any profit to share.

A few words of advice:
Don't count on it anymore.
Save your money and live with in your means.

So the place stays in bussiness a few years longer. Remember that most of the east guys only need a few more to retire. So the real question is, just how much time will 3 billion buy them?

Cheers

Oh I forgot this one

Don't go buy that Captains house just yet.

I've heard the cold and flu season out EAST may be ALOT longer than expected...

The chief pilots are gonna start rolling out the thug tactics. 😛h34r: Anybody who is sick better get their butt to a doctor, bring a lawyer, and have the paper work notorized.

The MEC/LEC reps are gonna be hounded like you have never seen.

Check pilots are gonna be leaned on.

Gee Doc, I can't shake this diarrhea, sinus problem, stomach ache, etc. Enjoy the summer with the family. Life is WAY too short! AAAA-cheww...

Ya know, I miss the converstaions I had with Doc Long in CLT. He was a good family type doc and had so many good stories to tell me while he filled out my paper work. The most entertaining medical this side of the mississip!

Getting a doctor's notes are so cool, they make me feel years younger.

"In the event contractual issues between or among the pre-merger pilot groups remain unresolved within thirty (30) days following receipt by ALPA of the merged seniority list, the President will call a meeting of the Joint Negotiating Committee to resolve these issues."

Oh no gotta go the the principal office

Jerry Glass and Ford & Harrison have to be loving this. It only took 300 strike breakers at CAL to keep the thing going long enough for the flood gates to open. ALPA just handed them the potential for 2500. Good luck ever getting anything better than a take it or leave it contract. Mr. Ted A320drvr, if you don't think this will impact you at UAL......well thats like U giving up their pension not precipitating the loss of yours.

AAA merger comm. over reached and got burned. Best bet is to get a new contract and try and recoup some $ for the fo's.

I think you need to explain how the AAA merger committee over reached in their proposal. If anything, I think the AWA proposal was way out there.

Maybe a comparison would help.

From what I've been told the old Piedmont guys $crewed the Empire guys, the USAir guys $crewed the old Piedmont guys now the US west guys have stuck it to the US east guys.

This list seems unfair even from the outside, but why does it seem like so many east pilots are of the mindset that the west pilots personally sat down and drew up this seniority list. The way I understand it an 85 year old man came up with this list ....... and his decision is final.

Oh hell yes, I'm kicking myself for taking the high road and not scabing at CAL when I could have. I'd be a captain today and in good standing at ALPA. I won't make that mistake again. UAL cold called me an offered $75grand to be scab capt. when I was making half that, again I said no. Why? I thought I was doing the right thing. 22 years shot to hell. THANK YOU ALPA DOG
Pilot wanna bees, SCAB! it means nothing! Get a job if you have to step on a dead body!

There is what you were told and there is reality and they aren't always the same. From what I am reading, there can be no use of the combined list until there is a single contract. Why would the East guys stay at the table? Should the not just bring the joint negotiators back and operate under their contract and list for as long as they can? That buys them a few years of unfettered access to the heavy attrition on their side.

Glass and company have to be happy, because what leverage will that leave the West guys in their section 6 talks? How hard can they push when the company is operating two airlines? Wouldn't that just push any growth to the East since they are cheaper anyway? Any reductions from the West?

That union will never have the strike card and they can't even threaten it. Who would take them seriously? With the disunity that award will sow, their MEC can't even consider it and know the company would laugh at the threat. The guys who would cross probably wouldn't even feel ashamed, more likely justified at taking it back. US at best will have the worst contract in the industry for a generation and will be the one dragging others down and at worse just begin the death spiral to CH 33 bankruptcy.

This isn't some 85 year old man's fault. It is the fault of ALPA from altering the merger policy from DOH in the early nineties and making it dependent on which arbitrator is picked or who argues the screwing the best. Even still there could have been a negotiated list but I feel sorry for all pilots across the industry as things aren't going to get better and the starting point for the next backslide has been cemented and that is just a recession away.

This award officially does it for me. This is no longer a career, it's now just a job. Hundreds of us have lost YEARS AND YEARS of seniority to our WEST associates. Congrats, you got a nice windfall. Don't ask us to be "good union members". No thanks, I gave plenty already. Want a strike vote? Not a chance. I wouldn't walk a picket line for this group. Wanna march to show Dougie we're unified? Got to mow the lawn. By the way, we're not unified.(Hopefully will not be anytime soon.) Most of us have learned to live with what we currently have. I will not give one OUNCE of help to a group that has taken over a decade of hard work away. ALPA is total joke......

Were I you, I would seriously consider primping your resume because you are gonna be on the street shortly, if not sooner.

I'm shaking in my boots.

Do what you have to do.

Maybe you can get yourself fired and everyone under you will move up one number.
