From what I understand the reservations training and development dept, ATO helpdesk, and Procedures are closed or are going to be closed very shortly here in PIT. Does anyone have any first hand accounts of this?

I assume that since res is gone from PIT it would make sense to move related offices too. I would also assume that all other RIDC functions will be gone too. Even the FAA FSDO offices are moving to Tempe with the certificate.

All of the reservations training and procedures staff have been let go except 3 or 4 people who are staying on for a few more months. Crazy thing to do when the res systems are not going to be integrated for awhile. I haven't heard of any airport people being let go, just the reservations staff.

Personally, I would like to see the Rez center reopened to full capacity and the outsourcing revoked. They give the worst impression of the airline and its embarassing. No matter how wonderful your total flight experience, the beginning is a nightmare trying to book thru rez(the outsourced portion.) PHx and Rno rez cannot handle the increased call volume if outsourcing goes away overnight but reopening closed centers with friendly, knowlegeable agents(US based) would add to the aura(sp?) of a new airline dedicated to pax. IMHO.

Is that for sure? I had heard that rumor, but last time I ask a Fed they said nothing was decided yet, especially the certificate. I had also heard CLT was in the running. Best. Greeter.

Many of the RIDC PArk offices will be closed by April 30th. Slowly but surely the offices are being transitioned and phased out. Many employees last day was yesterday. Customer Service Training will eventually transition to CLT. Customs Service Systems to PHX. Inflight training to CLT (I believe). There will still be a very small number of offices that will remain until full integration, but it will be a very small number.

The expectation is to have most everyone out of RIDC Building 1 by April 30th. There still has not been a decision made on the Ops Center in RIDC Park.

What a far cry from all of the office space we used to have in PIT.

Usually the FAA dose not "move" a FISDO. The FISDO where the certificate is held is responsible. Example, when Allegheny wholly owned was taken over by Piedmont wholly owned express, MDT FISDO employees were cut back and took grade reductions in pay, while Baltimore took on the added responsibility of overseeing the entire combined company. So it would seem that the certificates' place of business would need to be changed, although the FISDO itself does not move. I hate to see PIT reduced so much, whenever I had to work there the people were great.

Tell that to the FAA headknocker I had on jumpseat from PIT.
He says FAA in DC decided it's all moving to Tempe with the certificate. So are most of the inspectors.

If the guys from FAA in PIT are going to Tempe in part or whole is good news for the company. There is not a finer group of professionals anywhere in aviation. These folks have worked hand in hand with the company to make Flight Ops and Flight Training the best there is.

Agreed, they are the best!!! 😀

First off the FAA does not decide where the certificate will reside. That is a business decsion that will be made by US.Secondly the FSDO has nothing to do with the US certificate, you have the FSDO confused with the CMO or Certificate Management Office. And last I heard, where the certificate will be has not been decided.

or it has been decided, and they just aren't telling us.

BTW, you just don't move a FSDO. Its impossible.

Now the POI, PMI, PSI may relocate to PHX (if that's even the home of the nearest FSDO for HP) and their staff if they so desire or the government tells them, but I doubt that.

The FSDO and the CMO are two different entities. The local FSDO has nothing to do with the US certificate.

Nothing has been finalized related to the certificate. In general the certificate will be maintained at the airlines SOC or OCC. Once the company determines where the main operations center will be, the certificate holding will follow. There is room for expansion in PHX at the FTC, but money is probably going to a driving factor, both short terma and long term. Inflight training remains in PHX and CLT, untrue post on that area moving to CLT.

first, all leases in PIT have been to month to month for over a year, maybe two.
second, if they're moving FAA inspectors and such...i'd bet base maintenance hasn't too bright a future here.... 😱
