Bingo..., It was mandatory for FSvc CCs. Exactly right, a bunch of charts and a "we need to be like SWA" presentation by one of our union brothers :down: along with the Pres of the local sitting up front kinda made me sick. Our meeting for A/C Maint here at DFW was very entertaining. We had our maint. manager and a couple of other managment types, we had big Don, Kieth and some other local union guys and the very attractive young lady from that Boston consulting group....there were about 15 of us and we let them all know how bad the moral is and how little trust we have in both management and our union. The meeting lasted almost 5 hrs and niether the union or local managment heard a word we said. They just tried to get through thier rehearsed speeches and didn't seem very interested in what our concerns are or any ideas we might have. We got doughnuts though.

Maybe now is the time to ask ...again: how much are the "virtual" overhaul amts at SWA paid? And by not having heavy maintenance in-house maybe SWA can have fewer layers of management? Or maybe, just maybe their workers need less adult supervision?I forgot to mention. The JFK based maintenance crew chief is on the PLI committee and he is travelling giving the presentations. He revealed that SWA has 4 layers of management from worker to CEO.. AMR has 7.
You are correct about not mirroring SWA management, I am told that was brought up but also promptly dismissed.But I do agree with AMFA man that AA wants to mirror SWA cost structure except in pay.

Well according to ECLAT (AA and twu's favorite) and they would never lie according to the twu, AA has risen from outsourcing 20.7% in 2003 to 25.3% in 2005. SWA has dropped from 53.6% in 2003 to 51.8% in 2005. BTW they are down from 60% in 2000.
