This was copied from an APFA hotline dated 6-2-06 I am trying to find the press release. I don't remember hearing if they changed their minds.

"Last week, APFA issued a press release regarding the Executive Committee’s Resolution stating that APFA is no longer participating in the Performance Leadership Initiative as it was presented by AA at a recent Town Hall Meeting. Active discussions related to APFA’s concerns will continue Friday between the parties and we will keep you updated."

The money "saved" by taking concessions from labor enabled AA to compete with airlines which ran into BK. Money "saved" by taking concessions from labor enabled AA's stock price to rise.

AA managment took stock... but it was the UNSHARED sacrifice that allowed the stock to be what it was worth when management sold their shares.

So, in a way my concessions paid for the stock value.

Keep "punishing" AA's bottom line by refusing to do things that increase profits (you admit that they "save money") and you can be assured that your pay won't go up.

Something about cutting off one's nose to spite one's face comes to mind. If I were hoping to extract more money from management, I'd be doing everything I could to increase the size of the pie, not trying to make it smaller.

But then again, you're the genius who flies jetBlue on holiday and then complains that you did it because AA's fares are higher than B6's. Which airline made a profit last quarter?

If you are at all representative of your peers, no wonder AA has such an easy time getting what it wants from the workers. Keep on sabatoging management's efforts to increase profits. That's sure to get you a raise in 2008. B)

We no longer need to do anything to extract more money from management. The size of the pie is six years of concessions large and we have seen nothing except layoffs and more work with fewer people.

Just like the presidential election, with the electoral votes, AA, and THEIR union(the USELESS TWU), and to a somewhat lesser extent APA/APFA, know EXACTLY what work groups that they have to carry, in any election(IF THERE IS A *UCKING ELECTION EVEN ALLOWED).
For example;

AMT's = TUL
APA = DFW(base), and the residual "yes" votes from the other bases

APFA=(A little trickier here), DFW, plus residual.
The very senior mama's from ORD/LAX/SFO tend to "not want to upset the AAple cart"

As always, with all the company unions, to get a true UNION feeling about Union/company issues, look at the Votes that come out of NYC/BOS, and MIA, for pilots and F/A's.(Mia Fleet service, and AMT's STILL has a way to go to become a Union powerhouse like NYC/BOS)
DCA/ORD for all groups are STILL to conservative IMHO.

This is not meant for ANY strong union person, in any of the "company bases" !!(like MCI)

<_< ----The problem here FWAAA is we've seen where those profits go! They're going into the pockets of upper, and med, management in the form of Bonus! Where's the "Shared Gain" FWAA??? You can't expect your workers to permanently reduce their standard of living just to benefit the "Privileged Few" at the top! It just don't work that way!-----And don't give me that crap about "you have to give these talented people a decent wage to retain their services!" I remember hearing about your local President putting out a letter saying that they(the elected officials) were no longer going to participate,but our local is telling us that all twu locals are still attending the meetings and participating in the process. We are also being told that the F/A and the pilots are participating as if nothing has changed. I am not stirring the pot I am just repeating what our local is telling us. If you would talk to your local and post their answer I'm sure alot of people would like to hear what they have to say. If they are still participating your membership needs to know why and what International official help them change their minds.

It stated local 561 would no longer participate in the PLI

There was no vote about weather or not to participate. The majority here thought it was a bad idea from the start. So to have a vote on something no one really wanted to be a part of wasnt necessary.

I could try and get a copy of the letter but I know there was no vote.

People like yourself(spineless)don't seem to understand that eventually you have to stand up for yourself even though might lose the fight. Their is no shame in fighting and losing. Thanks for your concern. I've spent years teaching my kids not to whore themselves out for wages they feel are inferior. And like me, they recognize the value in standing up and fighting when there's a fighting chance of winning.

Sadly for many children of AA TWU members, they've watched their parents settle for less and less since the early 1980s. They've watched their parents complain and moan about how their big bad boss has mistreated them on a regular basis. They watch their parents go to work every day in exchange for low wages. That's pathetic.
