.....Reliable sources report that a mishap with the A-330 ocurred in BAMA while weighing the aircraft.

Anyone have the details ?

I heard it was bad. But we must not have complaints about it and the work the do. It is a fine operation the best there is. There must be a silver lining to the mishap you just have to look.

You both don't know what you are talking about!!! David Castleveter said the company was happy with the quality of the work from MAE <_< <_<

Does tweeking the fuselage sound like a problem??? Oh right. Think of all the money they are saving while those chumps practice on OUR aircraft  !!

Then again, they could always take the wings off and call it the BAMA DINER or better yet the BRONNER DINER

The A/C 674 was damaged in SJU and ferried to BFM to repair the damage and do an S-Check.

They could not figure out how to wiegh the airplane, rumor has it on one of the attempts it fell off the scales or jacks and damaged the plane.

But no one in management would fess up, but the plane is still down there and has been for over a month on a 13 day check.

Thankfully it was an outsourcing incident, I would hate the fact that our guys would get time off for doing something like that. Screw those bastards down there! I hope they all rot! And while I'm at my tirade, screw Bonner and all his Alabama pensionfund holders, I hope they all lose their arse!!!

Does somebody have an honest answer to this:
If this outsourced MX is done at an outside company, and that company inadvertantly damages an aircraft and takes it out of service for an extended period of time, does said company reimberse Airways the revenue lost during the down time?

No. They just declare bankruptcy and reorganize. (Oh, and cut labor costs while they do it so that mgt can get bonuses that will keep the talent.)

A/C 674 is scheduled to ferry back to PHL on Sunday 1-23 (weather permitting) so I guess 674 has been repaired ?

{} {} {} these are applause. Oh gosh, I hope passengers never ask why flight numbers are changed so often? I'm not sure that they would understand, that changing flight nbrs is done probably to divert the fed avi admn so that they cannot track and report on the stats of that flight. New flight numbers, new take-off times (by just a few minutes), no history, no data (throws the fed avi admn off so much that it will be years before they ever figure it out. So why does my 9am flt number change every month? The flight is never on time. No stats, no data, no problem.

i was told by inspection at PIT union meeting that the aircraft that was damaged was '57 on jacks and it came close to damaging the 330.

Who's 757? Since US does not have any down there yet.

i don't know...and they're a multi company facility are they not? so could be anyones....

From the Flight Safety Committe, the A330 did in fact either fall of the scales or jacks and the frame was bent.

Engineers from Airbus at Toulose, France were flown in Mobile to evaulate the airplane and airframe.

That is all I know at the moment, will post further details when I get them.
