I was one of the westies that voted no to this garbage. Westies onyl looked at the money and nothing else. Why would you give you the profit sharing? Do you think the pilots are going to give it up? They took away all your sick days and noe you get 50% pay? The top out is 12 years. The current contract tops out at 10 years. Why go backwards? I guess you all hate the fact of getting that big profit sharing check once a year. I say lets call their bluff and wait. If your living paycheck to paychweck then find a better job out there. There is bound to be better paydays out there. If we win arbitration, the company may appeal it in court. Who's to day they won't make a quicker decision than next spring.

matrix....May I be the first to welcome you to the board..I think you'll
find this board to be a good source of information. You will also find
some combative personalities who will seem to never agree with you.
Now with that being said I agree with you in that we should never consider
giving up ''profit sharing'' unless something fantastic is offered in its place.
When the union filed to go before the arbitraitor and the union then along with
the company came up with this TA proposal it was thier attempt to block us from
''Due Process'' we should be able to see what if anything would have been decided
by the arbitraitor. We (the employees) were successful in letting both parties
know, were not gonna follow you blindly. We asked questions and found this TA
to be sub par to say the least. If or When the arbitraitor rules in our favor, we just
raised the bar considerably. Now we wait to see if the other grievance is upheld. That
being the Full time to Part time ratio (1200 upgrades)...Now we negotiate. We have
a huge chance to get back what was taken through bankrurtcy and chapter11. USairways
is now a very profitable airline, why shouldn't we share in the success. It was off our
backs we came out and not through a CEO's ideas. Welcome once again and I hope
to hear more from you in the future in regards to the temperment out West.. I also
agree in not selling into a 12 year pay scale and locking us up til 2012.
Thanks

It sounds that the writers in the Pittsburg papers say the pilots on the East will only come to the table on senority IF and ONLY IF, they receive equal pay as the West pilots, before coming to the table. That makes Great sense. No one want' to feel they have to prove equality especially on the pay scale. So! It will make sense that West AWA FLEET should be treated the same if the Interim contract goes to a NO VOTE. There is no reason to negotiate until all the players are on the same playing field. I say, let the vote fail. But the west will not negotiate without equal pay. Then and only then will we All be unitied to go forward. The west can wait for years with what the East US Airways fleet are making in wages at this point. Remember, inflation doen't take a vacation.

At first glance, of course the money increase for the west looks good. What else on this agreement looks good other than the pay scale? Nothing. One of the westies is on the negotiating committee and I can't believe he actually liked this agreement. Insurance costs might go up, they go up every year but not that much. They must think the people working on the east coast would actually agree to this piece of garbage then the IAM heads must be crazy. This airline has shown profit for the last six quarters on our sweat. The IAM works for us not US Airways. I don't think we should break the backs of US Airways but there has to be some medium for us and them.

[The ratio of full time employees to part time employees is almost at 50%. You talk to these part timers and all the want to work is like a day or two a week. Since workbrain never catches these people working below their minnium number of hours. We need full time people out here.
