What's new

PSA and 900s

All I know is that the addition of even more CRJ-900 airframes to our overall fleet is going to do nothing but lower our customer satisfaction in return for little to no real advantage in costs over operating E-190's instead.

On the otherhand, as was mentioned here a million times, the addition of Dash-8/Q400's WOULD make a real difference to our overall costs and IMO add to cutomer satisfaction (if those planes were used on the right routes)

I agree 100%, and still holding out hope that common sense will prevail. Not holding my breath though

OK PSA pilots......whats it gonna be? Are you in or out....and what are your thoughts about it!!

It is very much my business.....and learn to spell.
PSA pilots will accept the CRJ900 proposal. I believe that to not do so will result in the eventual (and not too long in the future) drawing down of and finally the disolution of this WOS. As someone on the property, albeit reluctantly so, I feel that this is understood at some core level, by all involved. There may be posturing, and tough talk, but, when it comes to "nut cuttin' time", the airplanes will be accepted. The best that can be "negotiated" by the young and very inexperienced MEC tasked team, is some QOL issues that should cost Airways nothing; i.e. scheduling productivity and efficiency improvements (which could lead to an entire abysmal department's departure). This is the only scenario where the outcome is win/win in addition to saving the jobs of PSA pilots.

You are wrong!!

There will be no draw down of flying at the WOed. US Airways stock price and ability to raise capital depend on profitable quarterly reports. PSA's flights are all full or oversold. They cannot reduce our flying. We are the cheapest jet operator and a major source of profit -- not just income, but profit US Airways. The only pilots that are saying the 900s are a sure bet are new hire FOs that have no understanding of the negotiating process and fear even the smallest threat from management.

After talking to lots of PSA pilots here is an informal poll...

80% DAY pilots vote no
100% J4J pilots vote no
70% CLT captains vote no
40% CLT FOs vote no
??% TYS pilots vote no

The only people that stand to gain if we accept the 900s under current terms are the top 80 FOs and the top 20% of the captains. Everyone else recieves little to nothing in return. It's going to take a lot more effort from the company to get this proposal to pass.

Every time something has to be voted on, you hear everyone saying they're voting no. When the results are in, whatever it was still passed.

Happens often, will probably happen here.

Ok, Mr/s Spelling enforcer. Please explain how it's your business?
That one is easy enough...wants to get an idea on whether or not PDT is going to get screwed over and lose more flying..more aircraft and possibly a job. So I would say yeah he has an interest as do I.

I don't know about any of you, but I haven't seen a propsal to vote on yet. Sure, the company gave us the one where it was for current rates with no improvments but I am holding out for the union proposal that we can actually vote on. Are they going to ask for it all? Are they going to roll over? We'll see. My vote, along with most other pilots here (I would bet anyways) will depend on what that proposal is. Not the rumor/hearsay that we get on a webboard.

I dunno, don't remember seeing somewhere that the 90 seaters are replacement for the turbo props??? Obviously there's still a huge market for them.

On the same note, I've seen either here or elsewhere that you guys have Jet rates in your contract?? Mind posting them?

I do not have the jet rates for the restructing agreement in front of me, but they are about the same as your fifty seat rate. Do not have rates for 70 seats, if there are, I have not seen them.

So PDT rates have a three percent increase per year, if were fortunate enough to have gotten jets. The proposal, for the 900s, states for PSA rates, 5.9, 8.7, 9.0 increases for the next three years. Interesting...I know blended rate right?
