I had a board member from another airline on board and he said that all of the upper management has already signed statements that they will be gone after bankruptcy. The only reason they don't want the merger is because it will effect the type of package they will receive when they leave. Does anyone know if this is true?

I'm not sure who has signed what, but make no mistake-in America, management tends to do much better for themselves during any transaction than for the employees. I know our VP of In-Flight stated she will be here afterwards (I wouldn't mind seeing her go). And, of course, Jerry already announced his retirement. I think right now, the creditors want to know who will be on the BOD and DL is giving the creditors more say in the day-to-day business.

It can't be true. The current management has no real say in the merger. If the creditors wanted it, they would have to work toward it.

As for them all leaving. Unlikely. I see Whitehurst, Bastian and maybe Hauenstein staying.

Hauenstein will only leave if USAir is successful in their take-over.

our (US) management in the past have done all kinds of stuff... that's why some of our people are so "rough around the edges" on this board. it's been one lie after another and each person in upper management ran with a lot of our money. i don't think you have anything to worry about with this take over, as it won't happen (in my opinion as well as many other co-workers). it's too bad it's come to so much hate between employees (both airlines) who have nothing to do with it. 🙁
