If an airline pax gets belligerent anywhere during the transaction (but after they pays their money to get that ticket of course!) then they will receive a smackdown by the TSA or other cops.

On the other hand, a walk-in customer to an ER doesn't need to fork over any cash, they can demand instant service, they won't be ejected because they go berserk and they can verbally (even physically) confront the nurse --- and they still will receive service!!

I don't think the proper or productive response in either situation is belligerence. If going berserk becomes an accepted method of obtaining any type of service, I may have to start packing (it in?, up and heading for the hills? heat?).

Well coming to US Airways from the craptacular company I will refer to a US Airways Express based outta PHX..... life on the ramp really is a cake walk and I am seeing the world while going to school to accomplish my goals.

Travelling the world on a dental floss budget does have its set backs... but all in all, this job is my true stepping stone until I graduate and grow up and I have had worse jobs that do pay less. I can't complain...

But I think anyone coming from my previous company would agree that working the ramp for mainline in PHX is a walk in the park.

But I'm sure I'll be gone in a few years anyway, unless I can transfer as a flight attendant or something like that I don't want to work for US Airways my whole life.... but the opportunities it has, and continues, to afford me truly are priceless.

At least they finally put part-timers in for freakin' tuition reimbursement... isn't much, but any little bit helps for those people that DO want to better themselves while in the employment of the company.

Thats my two cents.

On beligerant pax getting the smackdown by cops or TSA:

NEVER happens in CLT. You can TELL them to remove someone and they won't. They just ride around on their segway and try to look important.

It's you versus pissed off pax every time and your only defense is to throw some remarks in that PNR.

"5h- pax was extremely drunk and abusive...etc . etc."

woops i just spoke sabre.

you get the point though
