Have you ever called your mother a b1tch, father a bastard or any family member a bad name because they just ticked you off? Would you allow someone else in your presence to call them the same name because they were ticked off? Probably not.

I am 'jewish'. I can tell a jewish joke and it's not a big deal. If someone I do not know or say a member of the KKK tells a jewish joke the implication is a bit different. For the most part, only minorities can make jokes about minorities. Whites have not earned that right. I think it might have somethign to do with our racist past but I could be wrong on that. There are exceptions to that. What the rules are I do not know but Robbin Williams comes to mind.

Does Chappelle have any racial bias? Perhaps. Is there a double standard? Yes there is. I think in time the wounds will heal an the racial tension will dissipate. Right now given that there are still people alive who were not permitted to serve in the military beside a white man, or sleep in the same bunk, drink from the same fountain, sit in the front of the bus, get educated by the same teacher or get married to a white person .... the history is not that old yet.

The race card is the most rapid-fire, vapid weapon of smear, mass deception and diversion ever conceived by man. It is a weapon under which weak minds are servilely crouched and can be fired with the greatest of ease by even the most intellectually and sanity challenged. In fact it was designed especially for use by them. It is void of justice. It is void of liberty. It needs no footing in rationality. It has no expiration date. Liberalism has changed the way we look at ourselves......no longer can we laugh at ourselves without being labeled 'racist' by the left.....
People like Dave Chappelle, the Wayan Brothers, Richard Pryor, Don Rickles and many others comedic style 'is not cool' now by the PC crew.
And the racist label almost exclusively is used by the liberals when they can't get their way or are challenged by the right. Funny isn't it?
Liberal progressives did all they could to put the Black Man down in the south and later on during the 'civil rights days'.
Wasn't that how the Republican Party evolved? From a splinter group of dems who didn't wish to see Blacks put down because of their status in the south and the threat they represented to voting and southern dems?
Didn't the GOP vote for equal rights in the sixties while the DNC tried to subdue it?
Funny isn't it?
So now we have an uprising of pissed off taxpayers under this latest progressive liberal 'experiment' and comprised of Independents, Democrats and Republicans.....who love their country and do not agree with the direction this present administration is taking this country and join together to protest and once again....the progressive left declares them racist and unAmerican.....from the speaker of the House and Senate and through the current administration.
Just wait until the ramp up toward this falls elections....
The race card will be out in full color.....only this time I think the DNC will regret it.

See I am a victim. A 40+ white male, no degree yet for years have performed at peak levels. So why then have I beeen told I'm "Unpromotable"?

Well folks it's really quite simple. A large Fortune 100 Company can't take the risk. Here's what would happen. Suppose I worked say 7 years in sales reaching as high as #16 of 386 in the company for Sales Performance (This is the merit part) and over those 7 years I win President Club Honors 5 times. Sounds like a good candidate for the opening for a Sales Manager right?

WRONG! My competition is a 38 year old African American female with a BS in Education, 3 years in Sales, 2 at Presidents Club level performance wise. She is the new Sales Manager and for the next 2 years I help her get up to speed because she is a nice lady.

Folks this lady couldn't carry by briefcase on a sales call. So I did some digging and found out she had a quota HALF what a normal rep in her territory has so it was easy for her to overachieve.

If the company were to attempt to promote me over this nice lady she would have been in Federal Court in an heartbeat and she could have won. So you're the company what to do??? Simple take the path of least resistance hire the Black lady and go make nice nice with the guy who is actually bringing in the business.

I remember one of my black female co-workers remarking back in the '80's. "I'm so damn sick and tired of everyone looking at me thinking I'm some "Quota Queen" who didn't earn her way. I busted my rear to get into Penn on an academic scholarship but because I'm black everyone thought that was the only reason I was there" I looked at her and shrugged, what could I say?

This is what happens when you have a bunch of do gooders trying to fix everything so that no one loses. In Capitalism there are winners and losers.

Lack of a degree for starters. Not knocking that...I am exactly the same as you 50+ white male with no degree. Been with my company for 11 years. I was part of a job requirements reclassification and as a result, I couldn't be hired today to do my job...it requires a bachelors degree. I argued to include "or equivalent experience", but that was knocked down. Since I work in IT, I said that with those requirements, Bill Gates could not get a job here, since (at the time) he too lacked a degree. It ain't about color...it's the piece of paper that you and I lack. Both of us could run rings around anybody, but without that degree, we aren't going to be considered for the position...doesn't matter if the "competition" is white, black, green or purple. FWIW...we recently hired a guy to a director level position who had great paper credentials, but he couldn't find his butt with both hands, and he'd push when the door said pull. He was a white guy too.

I agree that AA is a double edged sword and that the idea of mert has dropped by the way side. Personally I do not like the idea of AA. I think it short changes people such as Colin Powell and others. He knows he could have made it on merit alone but when people look at him they ask them self is he a result of quotas (with out merit) or a person with talent who made it on his own.

Bigotry is engraved in our society. And not just the US but all over the world. I think that two of the things that this country needs to work on are class economics and education.

If you look at schools, the better ones are in the richer neighborhoods and the bad ones are in the poorer neighborhoods. I do not think that is fair. I do not believe it is fair to the children going tot he schools nor is it fair to us as a society. Some of those children in the poorer schools could be the next Salks, Hawking, Picasso or who ever. I think if we are going to argue (and rightly so) that all people should be treated the same when employment is in question then I think we need to give everyone the same opportunities to get an education to advance them selves. Yes it is possible to get an education anywhere as isolated cases have shown but on the whole, the kids in Beverly High have it quite a bit easier than the kids in South Central LA. Those inequities have to be corrected. i would like to see schools funded on at least a state level if not a national level. All schools need to have certain standards they must meet. I don't think you should be able to walk in to a empty school and be able to tell if you are in a poor, middle class or rich neighborhood.

Then there is the economic side of it. The unemployment with minorities is substantially higher than with non-minorities. I think part of that is related to education and partly due to environment. You have a broken household and an environment that is more likely to breed hopelessness than in more affluent neighborhoods. At some point people need to start taking control over their own lives and not blame others but it would seem that the system seems to work against those who are trying to get out. When the system will pay you more to work than not work something is wrong. Why not make it a sliding scale? I would definitely like to see the child tax incentives. If you can afford them don't have them. While I am on that topic. Put sex ed back in school and have contraceptives available for those who want to use them.

When the starting field is even, then I think the rest will fix it's self over time. What we have now is so FUBAR that I do not think taking away AA will do anything but make it worse for those who started at a disadvantage in the first place. As with most other endeavors, either pay a lot now or a lot more later.

One more thing. I do not think one can easily discount the fact that the minorities who are suffering now were the same minorities who were either enslaved, kicked off their land (native Americans) or other wise treated differently than those who were not. It is not coincidence. There is a causal relationship between history and today. The question is how do we fix it without screwing up more.

Well it's about race to the extent that if Affirmative Action didn't exist we wouldn't be having this debate. Affirmitve Action has created what I like to call "Creeping Credentialism" which is the result of AA and the desire of company's to avoid lawsuits. HR depts now don't seek to add the best people, rather they "rule out" those who create potential legal exposure, THEN go for the best candidate.

When you have a program called CPFM or Certified Parking Facility Manager the whole world is going crazy. This is yet another example of the Do Gooders and the Law on unintended consequences colliding at warp speed.

Yes we would. I'll betcha that your company REQUIRES a degree for certain positions. And if there wasn't affirmative action, and the only candidates were you (with no degree) and a white guy who couldn't tell #### from shinola, but had a degree...the guy with the degree would get the job.
