Dear Delta, you squandered money on PanAm. You squander money by the millions on executive salaries. You're doing nothing about the price of oil, and you could, board of directors.

I want my pension restored

I want my medical costs cut.

I want my salary restored to what it was prior to you people synergizing, empowering, and hosing the employees.

I'm tired of the merger diversion. Give me back what you have stolen!

A powerful, poignant and Sincere statement, IMHO.

There are 2 groups of legacy carriers to date.

1 group, due to very POOR Management(IMHO) see's nothing wrong with WASTING the Employee pension fund, then running to the BK court, then Emerging with an.."Employees Pension" BE DAM*ED attitude !

Those carriers are ...DELTA, UAL and USAir.

The second group AMERICAN, CONTINENTAL (at Least NW..FROZE... their Employees defined Benefit fund), see fit to Pay their bills, and act in a Responsible ETHICAL manner !!

Perhaps it's as simple as "the Luck of the draw",....meaning, when (hypothetical) Employee #1 took a job with AMERICAN AIRLINES, many years ago, he honestly Didn't know if his pension would be Intact, once he retired, or when he Retired. He simply relied on Promises made/KEPT !

Employee #2,in her Wildest dreams,...NEVER EVER thought that DELTA would Renege on Promises made !!

Life surely IS a gamble at times.

For what its worth.....getitgoin'.... I really like your post. It SPEAKS VOLUMES !!

Could you explain the difference between how NWA froze thier employee pension plan and how delta froze thier pension plan. Now I am only talking about the flight attendants.

And how can the board of directors do something about the price of oil???

The heads of the airline industry which includes the board members of the major airlines have a lot of influence over energy. Collectively these people and their companies are major energy consumers.

The idea that there's this "peak oil" thing, and oil is running out, is ludicrous. The available oil in South Dakota and Wyoming alone is said to amount to enough to last the U.S. at present usage levels for 199 years. Seems to me that that would be plenty of time to redirect our system and infrastructure to other forms of energy.

For years the powers that be have been working to subjugate the people of the world, including us.
There's no need to stand for it.

Are you kidding me? That has to be the most ludicrous conspiracy theory I ever heard!

Of course the world is not running out of oil. For the longest time oil prices were influenced by wall street and global commodity trading and speculation.

Dude you need to get over it. Pensions in this country are long gone. Not just is aviation but in many industries. The last real hold out is government. As for healthcare costs, pretty much the same. My wife works in healthcare and insurance coverage from her employer is just as expensive as the coverage from DL.

My take is these shouldn't be issues for employers. Your retirement should be your savings. If you want to stop working at a certain age while you are still physically able to work, fine. I think it should be on your dime. Healthcare on the other hand shouldn't matter if you have a job with a good company. Providing that should be a government mandate.

Once again here is a thread that really doesn't belong in this folder. I'm seeing a trend of these.

I don't agree with you. Labor unionists fought for legislation that required employer provided pension plans for many Americans. Employers today are trying to set new precedent against established pension plans. This is an issue that is important to labor unions, because they've been the standard bearer for most Americans. Your posts bear the loga of a supposed labor union, "AMFA", and what I have to say is relevant to Delta employees(as American citizens), therefore I consider you wrong, also, to say that this post doesn't belong here, and I call to question AMFA's intent.

It's as simple as this, you can fight for the economic freedom of the people of this country, on the side of labor unions, or you can fight on the side of the elitists that believe that human labor is a commodity, to be purchased as cheaply as possible.

I'm thankful to the moderators for not assigning themselves to take sides here. These are issues directly related to the independence of people.

Are you the naive NHBB, AA ethical?? CAL ethical?? CAL filed BK twice pal, my uncle put in 40yrs there and it was no cakewalk and those employees will tell you how UNETHICAL it was... I don't know how you can sit here and say AMR management is stealing money and then the next second call them ethical... AMR mgmt. took alot from their employees without even filing BK, MGMT said bend over, and you did, and that was just the threat of BK. But I guess ethical it is... You sound worse than the kool-aid drinkers over at DAL.. GEt over dude, this is industry is toast and there are no ethical players.. Money talks and BS walks... Get ready b/c I see a great big BK get ready to hit AMR upside the head real soon... You need to stick with one "opinion" and quit swaying, you make me dizzy...

OK..Hi C Camp,

I'll digress to a point, but AA is ethical as far as Promising D B Pensions, and Delivering(Like the one I get on the 1st of Every month,............ANd WILL get, until it's time for my.."Dirt nap" !!!!!!!

Every Delta and NW employee that retired the same time as you is still enjoying his or her checks as well. (70% of FAE)The pensions at these companies are frozen, not terminated as CAL did in its trip thru BK.

I hope the current market does not force AA to terminate its pension. Many Many UAL, CAL and USA employees that had long since retired and counted on that 1st of every month check saw its dollar amount drop by as much as 50% YEARS after they retired. This due to the companies TERMINATING its pension obligations. I hope the same does not happen to AA retirees.

Once again... Let's think like adults... NHBB, USAir (now USAIRWAYS) was the shiaatt in the late 80's early 90's, and they too promised their pensions and retirements to their retirees and employees, which many retirees received their checks for a very long time.... Times changed and that promise is like a fart in the wind.. The same for UAL - NWA - DAL - ETC. ETC. ETC... Let me ask you this; DAL was PROMISING their f/a's that they would lose no seniority, in the event of a merger, and they would be protected because their CEO would sign a piece of letterhead... I laughed my arse off at this, (mainly b/c those kool-aid drinkers bought it... ) And you my friend, were on this board saying how crazy they are for buying that stupid mgmt rhetoric (which they are, but I digress)... The point is this, Just as many others, you too can get your check chopped in half, and you VERY LIKELY WILL... (not that I wish that upon you b/c I dont) .... Take a look behind you, b/c AMR is NOT immune, not only could the ball drop, but it could drop EXTREMELY hard and fast.... Unfortunately - YOU are not in control over the fact, that your check is mailed to you every month... Otherwise we would all be having a wonderful life and not have a worry in the sky... My father taught me long ago, HI-C, He said.. Have a plan A, B, and the beginning of a plan C... The world changes and you must too... Don't rely on stock options, your pension, or your 401K... Have several sources of investments to rely on and that way you will be well prepared... Not immune, but prepared.. FLASHBACK,, ( visions of blue - white - red - gold and white ) AHHH PanAm and TWA.... Those people thought they were "delivering on their Companies promises" as well... Get ready, I see a very hard time for people that think they will not be affected by the current environment and those people will be hit the VERY HARDEST...

HI-C,

When I retired almost 4 years ago, I asked about a possible/potential BK filing.

The answer I got was....."Larger the Pension, the larger the (PBGC) cut.

Ditto(in reverse) for smaller Pensions.

I have a small pension,..........therefore I'm not concerned much at all.
