He's a pure Libertarian? Well if that's the case I'm waiting for him to announce as President that the primary goal of a Paul Administration would be the elimination of Medicare, Social Security, Pell Grants, unemployment benefits, etc, etc. You see it's real easy to pound your fist on the table saying that Iran has no air force that can attack us, we need to mind our own business and we need to cut the defense budget. That's not going to cost you many votes. However when you start talking about the issues that I mentioned things change very quickly.

My guess is he will not. That means he's not a Libertarian or he is but he knows speaking about those issues will cost him votes. Which of course would mean he's just another politician saying, or not saying, whatever it takes to get elected.

He's already on record on these topics. Do the research before you comment as I'm not doing your work for you. His positions are quite clear and quite fair and reasonable.

I believe it is more of an issue with Perry since he seem incapable of separating his religious beliefs from his duties as governor and to his constituents. His religious fanaticism and his big mouth will not do well with independents. That's where the elections are won.

Nor should he have to. Certainly not to appease the .02 percent of the vote who are atheist.

Doesn't matter to me if his religion doesn't sit well with atheists or independents. The guy sitting in the Oval Office today deserves to be fired. Resigning might be a more honorable exit than losing at the ballot box...

Many independents simply vote for or against the incumbent. And Pharaoh has given those independents a lot to consider...

It appears that you really did not read my post very closely. What I want him to do is get on TV during a nationaly televised debate and state his position loud and clear. Tere's a big difference between that and stating your position in front a couple hundred Ron paul fans in a hotel meeting room or on The ALex Jones show.h

Perhaps a more viable candidate? As much as I do not care for Obama, there is not a chance in hell I would vote for Perry. Romney I think has the best chance. I am just not sure if he really is a social conservative or if he is just playing up to his base to win the election. Seems he is a bit more moderate in reality.
