😛h34r: Here at USA West PHX we have many new users that are requiring Sabre access. Is there a Sabre users manual that can be downloaded or emailed? In my searches I have not found the right contact in USA East. Thanks for any info!!!

If there is a system wide conversion to SHARES/QIK, why does anyone on the West side need access to Sabre?

Because the migration to one Res system is not happening for 15 more months and we need access to check and book flights for company business travel until that happens.

you can check with the sabre help desk
dialnet 744-6000

Are you fairly good with native SHARES? If so, SABRE's a breeze. (And it's a shame we're not going to it, better system if you want my opinion...)

Have you worked on QIK? I understand a lot of people are saying SABRE just because they don't want change. From what I am hearing from the East side people who have gone through training is that they love it.
But the main reason we are going to SHARES is cost. Plain and simple.
Also because US owns QIK we can make any changes needed at no cost.
The amount of money being spent on SABRE is amazing!
I would rather switch and save my job!

Well if changes can be made at no cost why not put the best from each as one plain and simple.

QIK is a more user friendly interface to SHARES which is basically the same as SABRE. DOS based command line driven.

Changes as in pricing, routes, info which normally are charged for each change made through SABRE are easily changed in house in QIK/SHARES.
Also the way it looks can be changed, printing routing, and back end setup which is normally charged by EDS/SABRE at outrageous rates can be done quickly and at no cost because it is done in house.

Again it comes to cost.
