I would never support any expansion of this airline into ANY new markets until they prove they can successfully and reliably operate the services they already have--in fact I support the REDUCTION or elimination of international routes as long as they continue to inconvenience and disrespect paying customers on a regular basis.

This comment is aimed at management, who refuses to give you the front line the tools necessary to do your jobs, and to properly handle customers who are affected by irregular operations.

NO to China--or any other new routes until they can manage what they already have.

Oh--and word is that the DOT is getting an earful too.

It looks like they might actually be committed to upgrading the envoy product to make sure they get this award.

On pages 89, 90, and 91 of the application you can see the new Envoy 767 seats (which seem pretty nice) and they say that 'when' they upgrade their Envoy product it will be competitive with the other carriers. So they are basically admitting that it is not competitive at the moment (interesting!)

But they say that they will be upgrading the food and beverage choices and mention linen on the tray tables (correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it is there currently). Then there is the portion where you can go to 7 different arrival lounges for Envoy trips in Europe with breakfasts, showers, internet, etc. I thought that London was the only current arrival lounge (again, correct me if I'm wrong).

I have moderate faith that by 2009 things can be turned around. If these are the same consultants which helped HP recover (and I remember the America's Worst references....I was always the one saying it at the time), I have faith that things can changed because pre-merger, HP went from terrible to great operationally after the 2001 time frame. And if they are going to upgrade the product and cabins like they say...I have faith that they are deserving of the award.

London is the only "owned" lounge. The other places they have an arrivals lounge it's typically a hotel voucher for a day room at a hotel on/near the airport property.

IF you can beleieve ANYTHING that you have just written, and I do say IF....doesn't one have to wonder how things WENT TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET? The East side of the operation has N-E-V-E-R seen such a disgraceful, despicable operation despite 2 BKs, 5unfortunate accidents in a relatively short period and the Management inspired "PHL Meltdown" of 2004. The current STATE of The Airline is directly attributed to the Failures of an Inept Management Team in Tempe that has clearly lost sight of running an Airline (a Circus, yes) and have placed morale and customer satisfaction to levels comparable to the Clown living in The White House. JUST SAY NO, to CHINA!

These sound like the same "hollow promises" we heard back in April regarding improvements in our product throughout the Summer and into the Fall. Where are the improvements? I haven't seen one. Just the same old crap (or sometimes worse) day after day, flight after flight.

I would be all for supporting our application to fly to China if we had an airline and a product to be proud of. The airline we work for today is offensive to Americans, Europeans, and any other citizens of the nations we fly to. The Chinese are a very proud and culturally sensitive people. USAirways flying to their country would be considered insulting. 🙁

To show MY support, maybe I'll head over to Home Depot and pick up a can of Mandarin Red and repaint the walls of my new Ming inspired Dining Room where a full Cantonese style buffet will be served. And I will also look for a plastic surgeon that can make me look more Asian.....I'll need some work done on the eyes and a breast reduction to fit in. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO Supportive of Service to China! Can't wait to serve the La Choy Menu in Envoy.....that name needs to go, Emperor's Penance would probably be more fitting. WHAT ARE THEY SMOKING????

I thought the china was stored in a warehouse in Tempe. Why do we have to apply to the government to get it back? 🙄

WHAT ARE THEY SMOKING????

Crystal meth is huge in China....maybe that is why they want to start service there

Is red really your color? I think of you more of a faded navy blue.

Don't go smaller...go bigger...go too beaucoup

I'm sorry, I just can't support subjecting any more travelers to our lousy airline........let's keep those travelling to/from China out of our misery.

Unfortunately, after 24 years of dedicated and proud service to this airline I must agree with the statement; I'm very sorry to say. And before you flamers start, yes I am seriously thinking about quiting. And no I won't let the door hit me on the way out! Someone else started a thread warning us to watch what we say on these boards....so what!!! It has gotten really bad people and Tempe just doesn't care!

Also the schedule is up with fleet type.

Them oh no not them ?

The current MIS-MANAGED USAirways should not be allowed to spread MISERY with cancellations, delayed flights, lousy service, and just plain unreliability to that part of the world! I say NO don't let US fly to China UNTIL they can get their act together! It's just plain embarrassing.....Europeans are now saying they will never fly US again! That's pretty sad when world wide passengers are fed up!

I think Tempe has lost it this time... Posting a link for our support to China? 12 hours is a long time for juice/water/pretzels  Yea sign me up!!
