American's New Nonstop Flight From Chicago to Beijing Will Offer Competition and Expand Travel Options

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will award new routes to China soon and American is asking for authority to fly from Chicago O'Hare to Beijing starting March 25, 2009. Seventy-three cities in 29 states and the District of Columbia will benefit from nonstop-to-nonstop service to Beijing connecting via O'Hare.

The DOT bases its route award decisions on a host of factors, including the amount of public support that an applicant has for its proposed route. We need your help. Please show support for American's Chicago to Beijing application by sending a letter to DOT Secretary Mary Peters.

Well, my shopping went so-so. Was able to find the Manadarin paint but struggled to find wallpaper to really bring out my "Asian feelings". When I went to the auto store and requested a hood ornament of Buddha....the sales person laughed and said maybe NASCAR (Dale Jr/Gordon/Johnson) but why Buddha? I told them "I need to support my airlines bid to China in all ways possible". When I told them who I work for they stated "Those frk'n clowns can't even fly me to Hickory anymore....who in their right mind would take them around the world?" On a brighter note, I did find fortune cookies........LOOK FOR THEM IN A SNACK BASKET NEAR YOU

It's a Marketing jesture......I am in the process of inserting the paper 'fortune' with the message "Fly US to China.......NOT!" I wouldn't support this bid in any way, shape or form.....it's a rouse, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

Btw, from the looks of it, 42 envoy and 227 coach seems like someone is waking up in Tempe. nearest seat model close to that would be South African, which has 33" of seat pitch in the back.
