I think the point of them posting so much is to get the point across.. very effective. Your response posts dont put you in a good light. Whatever the company and union did with MAA your long diatribes make it look like you were sole responsible and come off as hateful to those fa/s. Doubt yo mean for them to be but they do. Whether you agree with them or not you have to respect a group that actually sticks together and fights more power to them
Hope the pilots have half the balls in this situation
Ah, fly, just what did MAA furloughees accomplish as of current date besides all the hot air of disatisfaction? Did they figure out yet that U was floating close to going over a cliff at the time, or was their mind-set on "me, me, me, me"? Tell me if you can, were they included in concession 3? Do you know the answer? MAA f/as claim to have been mainline, if that's really the case, why were they left out of taking another concession? They should have been included, and should have demanded with all that other entitlement they think they should have had since they were mainline incognito. Hear any of them speak of that? No, I didn't either.
Those few MAA fa/s who think that I negotiated concession #2 which included their pay/benefit work rules have absolutely NO clue who was at the table. It certainly was not the LEC pres. of Pittsburgh. In fact if these loud mouths had any brains, they would look up the newsletter that went out which is still on the PIT website in the archives. PIT had the dissenting vote with the LEC president leading that pack.
But, god forbid anyone who posted for the desire for longevity would investigate the facts. I respond to these types of posters because they just have no clue and look for someone to blame.
I wish to have my pension back, wages, and afforable medical benefits. Don't you think I'm entitled to that? I do since it was promised for all the years of service. I wouldn't have left the company if I had the power to secure these provisions. But, the vote went out to all the f/as in the company and by majority they voted to give it away and keep their jobs...and yours, and recall for involuntary furloughees like MAA fa/s who are back or will be back to this airline that survived it.
Here's my point...frankly I don't give a damn if they blame me or the man on the moon. Bankruptcy is unfortunate deal for employees and shareholders. Those who were there during that process know intimately. The judge could care less. Either you vote to accept what you can possibly save, or choose to strike when the judge imposes his/her terms, and all the consequences/risks that go along with a strike decision. And, that my friend was up to the members.
Only thing labor can lobby and pressure for the future is policy makers to improve the laws to give labor more leverage and balance in a bankrupcy situation. That is, to ensure that certain wage provisions have a graduated snap back according to net profit triggers and co(s) with retirmement plans can not just walk away from their obligations by using BK to rid themselves of contract obligations.
