Has that been proven yet?

The IBT, TWU and NMB werent suppose to meet till the 23rd.
Whats wrong 700 did the IBT do somting the IAM/TWU didn't expect.??am thinking AMFA may get a shot to file.
Hope you boys still have them cards and by the way call the IBT and ask what the total number cards you will need is as they have seen the company's and TWU's list.

NMB still currently has the cards.

IMHO,Travis and others were at least trying to do something to bring change(or perceived improvement), which is better than some being apathetic about our profession.

Sorry bout that, let me rephrase; should have said, that AMFA already knows the amount of cards needed as they have the list from before and have been updating over the years. Hope you all get some really good news Mon.
If it stands at the one year delay, are you guys prepared to continue on with the card drive? And I would assume that AMFA National would get more involved this time around. You know most the guys that signed a card for the teamsters was wanting change just like all the AMFA supporters. Now, I think everyone could very easily become united and work together and pull off a very powerful and hugely successful AMFA campaign. It would definitely be in the memberships benefit to be AMFA represented before the merger, but not sure if that will happen. I still think there will be a merger, but now it will be put off much longer as they will have hard nego's about divesture of slots, routes, and flights to help cure the DOJ's concerns. I know it's in a judges hands now, but I foresee the judge forcing some concessions prior to approving the merger.

I agree with you. Now if all the previous teamster supporters, or even just a percentage, would get on board and "UNITE FOR CHANGE". Remember there were mechanics for AMFA, there were mechanics for TWU, there mechanics for teamsters, there were mechanics for IAM, and there were mechanics for no union at all. Although there were a difference in representation organizations, it very definitely shows that the majority of the membership wants and needs change. Now let's get everyone to come together and "UNITE FOR CHANGE".

Its a one year bar from ANY union from filing for an election.
That makes no sense. So in a year anyone can file not have enough signatures and we have to wait another year. Seems to me at least an election should be held in order to evoke the one year rule. Who makes these rules up anyway...the twu LOL

Well, I think you just made the point -- the sticking point isn't whether or not there was an election, though. It is whether or not the petition was accepted.

To me, it's like suggesting that the DMV failed you on your driving test, when in reality you didn't take the test because your didn't show up with the forms filled out or proof of insurance. I suspect NMB will see it the same way, especially if there was fraud going on with the IBT. In the end, they have to side with the will of the employee, and not that of the union who defrauded them.

Yeah the whole thing is sketchy at best, Im guessing the IBT had inside info from the NMB that wasnt going to go their way. Rather than have the info released, whether it be fraud or lack of cards, it was easier to withdrawl.
