Star-Telegram Article

I think the following Chinese Proverb sums up all the denial flowing here:

No single raindrop feels it is responsible for the flood.

All the blamestorming in the world isn't going to do y'all any good at this point. Better off just figuring out what your Plan B is going to be.

I see from the banner ad on the website that UPS is hiring holiday workers. Might not be a bad exit strategy for those of you who are totally fed up with AA.
You're right E.....

I blame myself for the destruction of 88,000 families.....

the destruction of wealth for creditors

the destruction of communities in Tulsa, Dallas, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, LAX, Miami and countless others within the AA family.

the destruction of counterparties, shippers, vendors, contractors and such.....

I'll accept all the blame for your sake and others......and BTW, UPS won't hire disgruntled employees from AA! I'll accept blame for that too....are you all happy???? Didn't think so!

Once again, you have cracked the code. The autopilot flies us to our private beach resort, where we stay for a few days at your union's expense at a 5-star hotel, away from the ice machine. We then fly back on autopilot, arrogantly plotting our destruction of other work groups and counting our stacks of $50s and $100s.

Seek help.
That's one thing AA forgot to accept in all negotiations.....pyshological exams!!!! probably wouldn't be a bad idea going forward, too bad AV1 and others wouldn't make it....just too damn bad, uh!!!!

Sorry, just one more thing and then I am done. Please learn to spell before you start talking about psychological exams.

Sorry, but I forgot to use spell check! We can't be as perfect as some....but, be assured I can probably pass the exam, unlike others.

Two things.....

Anyone who posts here is not done, they will be back.

and the second, I will be glad when pilots and mechanics get paid the same per hour........

So true, So true. 🙄

You might get your wish sooner than later. When airlines ask for paycuts from employees the pilots almost always take a bigger cut. Heck in a couple of years you might well be making more than a pilot but it might be less than you make today.

But, but, I don't want Salvadoran pilots flying my plane who make $5/hr in the left seat and just $2/hr in the right seat. 😀

Yes, I know what you meant.

The day is coming when guys/gals making over 200K will only be a dream. Even 150K will be the high end.

So far it seems that you guys are being led down the same path we were. The company putting out all sorts of stuff that pits one work group against another.

That article you referenced could have been written in 2003 with the name USAirways in place of AA.

I am still looking for that USAir pilot that "Averages 300k a year" that the company put out in a big press release!

At the time out of a pilot group of 6400 or so, the top 50 or so pilots flying International with 30+ years of seniority might have been making just a touch over 200k. Most F/O's were making from 40 to 70k and the Capts were 130 to 150k. Pretty good money to be sure, but a far far cry from the 300k "Average" the company put out in that article.

I wish you guys the best, having been through it I would not wish it on a CEO.......well, maybe a CEO....but nobody else! 😀

Those living in DFW should have been saving their excess as they have been living in one of AMR lowest cost of living cities.

Those of us in cities like SFO, LAX, NYC, have been living day to day on these meager wages. Maybe a new AMR will restructure the salaries to include a city by city cost of living index.

If the new company is to survive it must include all employees not just DFW.

Excellent reply Barfbag, True and to the point ! !

Ever since the TWU contract of 2/11/1983 (The "B" scale/Part-time contract) the good ol' boys in Texas/Oklahoma have been voting Y E S.. loud and clear, for every P O S contract that AMR has put on the table, and in a like way, so have the DFW Pilots and F/A's. Ever stop to THINK if you good ol' boys in the southwest had ever grown a SACK of NUTS that AA "may" not be in the position it is today?

Ever wonder WHY AMR moved the whole operation from New York to Fort Worth ?

(and here's the irony) It seems to be all the ARSE KISSERS (like this dude who started this thread) that seem to be CRYING most noticeably !

AV1, Welcome to the harsh Real World !

PS,
Know all those illegal Mexicans down there in TEX-ASS that your quick to try and deport ? Well you can get them to help you MOVE,..REAL CHEAP !!

Management AV1.......I'm far from the problem and I really don't walk around with a chip on my shoulders. I look at what this company has done over the last 9 years and it's pretty clear to any of the 88,000 employees that MANAGEMENT really didn't manage the business. I was all for helping this company turn around back in 2003 because I didn't believe BK was the best way forward. Boy, was I wrong! AA recklessly spent the 1.6B of employee savings, plus they incurred billions more of debt.....they continuously lost hundreds of millions quarter after quarter, and management just thought things were hunky dorry.....well now you see where the drunkin party got us, and can you and others honestly sit there and really blame labor.....I'm talking ALL employees....for having a chip on our shoulders????? The changes AA will make in BK should have been made in 2003 voluntarily, and not under court supervision. That's at least what my understanding was back in 2003 in exchange for 1.6B in concessions. The company renegged on their end of the deal and the employees were the only ones that took it in the shorts....now fast forward almost 9 years and it's the same thing all over again, and you want ME to be proud that I work for a bunch of losers at the helm....give me a break and take your sentiments somewhere else.
I couldn't agree with you more!

Tax rates, Bears. It was always about the tax rates. Where the HDQ is drives taxes, and is pretty much disconnected with where the work is performed.

(and for the record, most of us living on the border don't want illegals deported. We just want them to sign the guest book and pay taxes like the rest of us...)
