Err........read the thread ! He bitches about CEO's geeting 7000% raises compared to 700% raises for employees. Ask if he would be happy if the CEO's received the same 700% ?
Why is it more important that corporate execs be able to stay ahead of inflation, but not the people who do the actual work?

Where did kcflyer say that?
Oh..I did say that FM....I'm asking south why a CEO who risked NOTHING to start and grow the company is worth 500 times what the people who work for him makes.  He hasn't answered that.  I only expect to hear right wing talking points from him should he even try.  Or maybe signals will chime in with "they should start their own company".  I'd buy that line if they'd yank the salary of a CEO earning 500 times what the workers make and have HIM start his own company.   But I really have a hard time figuring out what any CEO of an established company has done to warrant the pay that they are getting.

Your boy Bill gates is an Obama suck boy.....so don't get too conservative touchy feely.

As for your continuing question, the person to ask isn't me, SW , Signals or anyone other than those who make "all that cash."

"All that cash"  is just wrong, eh?

You need to clean your ears then.  I read about how the owners risked their own money and sacrificed their time to build a company.  No argument about that.  "Owners" like Bill Gates, who never earned a salary over a 1 million.  He also created a lot of high paying jobs.  The conservative dream...right?  So let me ask you....the clerk at the Home Depot paint department is making 700% of what my father made 56 years ago.  But how much money did Frank Blake (current Home Depot CEO) risk to start that company?  Why is he paid almost $4 million per year in salary?  Why do you confuse "owners" and "founders" with "executives"?   Assuming the CEO of the paint company back then was paid $50k (which is most likely a much larger amount that he actually made) - if his income increased at the same level the worker who sold and mixed the paint, his annual salary would be $400,000.  What did these guys do that makes them deserve a salary that is 10 times that amount?  And while the old timey low paid paint store CEO and founder was being paid that lowly sum, he was creating jobs.  Guys today that pull in 7000% of that pay are eliminating jobs.  Is that the dream world for you guys?  Yazah boss.
And all I asked was "Would you be happy if CEO's recieved the same percentage of compensation as employees, i.e. 700% for employees, 700% for CEO's. Very simple question !

My guess is no, it still wouldn't be good enough for you !

If executive pay rose in proportion to worker pay, you bet I'd be happy.  I answered you.  NOw...tell me, what did the current Home Depot CEO, who risked NOTHING of his personal money to found and grow that company, do to warrant pay that is 500 times that of the people who work for him?  Eagerly awaiting your response.

Nothing special. He just accepted what the BOD compensation committee offered him. There lies the problem. They are all CEO's and execs from other corp's who expect the same back scratching.

I seem to remember the Ben & Jerry's CEO tying the exec compensation to the lowest paid worker.

Sounds to me like to need to ask that question to the "Board Members", who decide a CEO's pay! Did I ever say it was fair..........nope!

See GQ's response.  It sure aint' fair.  Only goes to prove that them that gots gets....I think I hear your mazzah calling....best go find out what he needs.

Here is a point to ponder.

We hear the no stop drone from the left that Wal-Mart is a "Welfare Queen" and costs the government a ton of money as WalMart has offloaded a great deal of its cost onto government. All of this is true actually.

However consider this. If we hade no government safety net, might it be possible that unionization would have taken place by now? That the court of Public Opinion which turning against them daily would have already turned?

Government meddling can be useful at times, but usually not.

Living wage - a wage that keeps someone above poverty level, and allows them to purchase goods and services that create demand and an in turn, create  jobs.
Ah, but the flaw to that is that it continues to help eliminate the Middle Class.

You are missing the point. Mom and Pop and other small businesses are wiped out and they are all left to work for the largest Company in the world with the worst insurance and benefits. Go educate yourself and don't bore me with garbage talk.
Bwhahahaha! Garbage talk comes from the uneducated people that go through life with blinders on. They live in their high and mighty picket fence communities and are book smart but haven't a clue what goes on in the streets. Two of my brothers continue to rake in the big bucks on their small businesses and have created jobs for many people in my community.

That's a fact, now put your money where your blow hole is, small fry! 😛

Yes, we should all make what 700 makes. Now, lets see how many people are going to boycott Wal-Mart any time of the year. This is great because if everybody boycotts the store, I get to be the ONLY SHOPPER. Oh, Thank-You, 700, for making me shop in an empty store on BLACK FRIDAY!

Give it up, you're starting to make unions look bad, my brother!
