Thinking about AMFA

Pffftt.... 🙄 Anyone with a finger can push buttons while standing on a rubber mat drinking coffee in a retarded twu "American's Real Strength" t-shirt watching the aluminum chips fly.

Get out of your cushy machine shop in Tulsa and come out into the real world. You wouldn't last a week. 😉

Pffftt.... 🙄 That is the same type of comments the former A&P's at NW used to make.

Look at what happened to them....

I did not mean to initiate any personal attacks on this topic of how AMFA sold us out at NWA, however I felt it necessary to WARN other mechanics about the false promises that AMFA tries to convince future suiters (or suckers).

No I'm not a scab, I (was) an 18 year mechanic at NWA, and yes I would have gone back if AMFA with all their vast promises would have saved my job (or any job for that matter).

I too believed the propaganda and voted for AMFA over the IAM. I felt I didn't want bag smashers and office help voting on issues that were important to mechanics. Sure they got us a good contract (but I guess before the poison takes affect, the grape juice tastes oh so good!).

AMFA should have known from the start and taken steps to fend off or at least redirected the actions of the other labor groups at NWA. Instead the IAM still hated us for voting them out, ALPA ignored our cause, and the flight attendants continued to fly but bought us cookies and water out on the picket lines (...and look what's happening to them now).

But after interest wained and picketers stopped showing up, and instead of continuing to be a pain in NWA management's side, they rolled over, played dead, and shoved this T/A down our throats, knowing it wouldn't save a single job and in fact it guarantees a pay raise for the scabs. And meanwhile they're back on the property representing those scabs...

Sure you can blame the scabs for crossing, those of us "honorable" members that didn't picket anymore, or just the overall lack of interest in continuing with the strike and voting to end it, but do you want this to happen with your job???

AMFA found out real quickly that they were playing in the major league and that being a star in the wiffle ball league won't cut it.

You mean look what happened to AA. The most massive concessions in history, no bankruptcy needed. For 25 years the twu has continued the concession trend, during the most profitable years in AA history. Will it happen again in 08??? 🙄

What will happen when/if AA management decides to turn on the twu and its bubba believers like you? Will you fight like the NWA mechanics did or will you cower like a beaten dog and say (again); "At least we got us these here jobs"......

AMFA didn't sell anyone out at NWA, your company and its pit bull CEO turned on you....it cost them a $100 million plus and having the nerve to subvert the RLA. The T/A that was voted on was brought to AMFA by a former iam now AMFA officer, stating apparently the Local 33 membership wanted thier money and to move on. It wasn't Delle or the AMFA National that decided to end the strike, it was your co-workers. Are your sure your not an iam stooge??? You sound just like one.

No union, especially a corrupt and weak company union like the iam, could stop what happened to AMFA. It was union busting, and it came at a high cost to the company. Look at the iam now, feeble in attempting to stop Steenlands assault on the rampers. Are they going on strike? Will they fight??? Never in a million years!!!! The iam will cower, like they always do. Thier afl-cio "brothers" in alpa and afa will step right over the iam bodies.

Let me ask you. If AMFA would have cowered and agreed to massive concessions where thousands lost jobs, you got your contract gutted like a fish, and your pay lowered to where your working 2 or 3 jobs to make it, and you never got to vote on it........would you be happy then???

No, you would be here screaming again how AMFA "sold us out" and the should have went on strike. No union worth a sh*t would have agreed to what Dougie Stealin' was demanding. Except the iam or the twu. 😛h34r:

He gets out a lot. To the union hall.
Would that be the new Stalag 514 on Pine St.??? The one that got voted down twice by the twu 514 membership and still got built by the twu International???

"An Injustice to One is an Injustice to All" 🙄 🙄 🙄

hackman, ken is a coat-tail rider. Trying for recoginition for something he has never accomplished. Machinists have provided the very tool's you hold in your hand, and the piece parts that make up the flying "puzzle" that you maintain.

You need to take a hard look at who is really in charge of your destiny in aviation

Ok, I'll ask. Whose coat tails am I riding? What recognition, which you say I have not accomplished, am I searching for?

You continue to show your ignorance hss. I never claimed a machinist was better/less than an AMT, or vise versa. Behind that veil of cowardice check for a personality. You suffer from a bad case of something.

"I would venture to guess that most of the haters who post here would not even be interested in taking a leadership role in the union. Let someone else do it."

Say bill, WHEN AA AMTs get a craft, democratic union on the property I will write my real name, not an alias, and run for an ELECTED position. I was going to do that after AMFA won an election against the twu but alas, all those dead people prevented me from doing that.
If you did run and refused to put unelected officials from the International ahead of your members then the International would simply trump up some charges and remove you, so whats the point? The TWU has to go.

princess, This dinosaur is trying to keep your kind from going "EXTINCT" 😉
Oh really and how are you trying to do that?

Seems to me that you are trying to do the opposite.

Cutting our pay and benifits to a level where we can not survive and agreeing to get rid of our work and transfer it to lower paid TWU members isnt doing much to help us. In fact you guys are our biggest threat. You guys have been throwing us on to the sword in order to save yourself from having to fight for 20 years. You have destroyed the profession. Your actions forced competitors out of the OH business since they could not match AA low labor costs. Its sad because we would have been willing to fight along side you but you guys chose to throw us on to the sword and surrender instead. Now you guys are on a campaign to reward the company for slashing our pay and benifits, You actually call sucking up to the company fighting to save jobs even though the company will contnie to eliminate jobs thanks to the increased productivity, you and those who think like you are nothing but a bunch of Quislings.
