Where did I admit anything ? The union went on strike and shut the company down...................period, end of report ! Move along, nothing more to see here !So you admit that you did not research anything yet again and that the company did blame the shut down on the unions?
Don't you get tired of being constantly proven wrong?
The first lady having no power to make laws over the foods we eat.
With his wife by his side, President Obama on Monday signed the child nutrition bill, strongly pushed by the first lady, who has made nutrition part of her campaign to help the young get healthy.

The evolution of electronics is a big issue with exercise these days. Kids don't seem to 'play' outside much around here at least. Not like when I was a kid.
It was ingrained into daily activity during my school years then went away.

Why do you feel 4 American deaths are no big deal and want to sweep the whole matter under the rug ?
Not sure why we're talking about this in the HO-HO thread but I believe any American death, in war, whether it is 4 or 4000 a tragedy and wonder why "You" don't share the same concern for deaths at Benghazi as you seem to do for any other soldier or citizen , whether in Iraq or Afghanistan ?Then show me the same amount of outrage you have over the death of four Americans in Libya with the deaths of American soldiers killed in Iraq driving around in unarmored HUMVEE's. Or killed by weapons that should have been secured but were not becasue there were not enough troops to do so.

You can say the same thing though about every other industrialized country in the world. Those same countries do not have the problem with obesity that we do. So we have to go back to what we as Americans are consuming on a day to day basis.
Keep that in mind as conservatives continue to call for slashing education budgets; PE is usually pretty close to the top of the list for things to go first.
True. Also important to note just how "car dependent" so many of our cities are. People can't walk or ride a bike to many places they need to go, even if they want to...
Very true. That's part of it. Kids nowadays have any number of electronic gadgets at their fingertips. Add to that the number of jobs that require physical labor in this country has gone down. More people sitting behind a desk burning very few calories while they type.

Very true.
As Dell said, I remember hitting the park, or street and playing some kind of game (baseball, basketball, soccer) from the time I got home from school until I was forced to go to bed.
We also did all the yard work. TV was a small thing we did on Saturday mornings watching cartoons.
I am all for any influence anyone can exert on the parents of obese children to get this epidemic under control.
