Twinkees Dead, Union Charged with Ho-Homicide..

How does that make the list "bogus?" The question was whether or not Pabst was union, not how many breweries are owned by multi-national conglomerates.

Kev, just because there are union represented workers at the employer doesn't necessarily mean they are union friendly, correct? Plenty of companies have union employees with poor labor relations and/or engage in hositle anti-union and union busting activities. If supporting union workers by buying union products is important to you, those lists are a start but don't necessarily mean they are union friendly. Even in Pabst does purchase the Hostess brands, nothing stops them from producing them in China, Mexico, or right to work states. Just sayin'.

I didn't know Powell's books in Portland was union. It's a great store.

SAB Miller brews over 200 brands same for In-Bev which now owns Anheiser-Busch. Molson-Coors is less and then the last 2 giants are Diageo (Guinness) and Heineken. Pabst is owned by an investment group (hedge fund) and they have a reputation in general of not being union friendly.

The point being is that I just think it fair to note that most large brewers are unionized and Pabst therefore isn't all the different.

TwinkieGate

The unions did it for Michelle so our little boys and girls can escape obesity.

I find it very strange that Republicans feel the need to attack the FLOTUS for championing children's health issues.

Yes, I'm sure a lot of Liberals would find it strange, letting someone make their own choices vs. being told by Big Brother, what you can eat !

Ironic, how some people want government hands off of women's body's, but don't have a problem with that same government telling what you can put in your body !

Show me where the First Lady has "told by Big Brother, what you can eat !"

"In the end, as First Lady, this isn’t just a policy issue for me. This is a passion. This is my mission. I am determined to work with folks across this country to change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition."

[background=transparent]Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the problem of obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams. Sure, this is an ambitious goal. But with your help, we can do it.[/background]
[background=transparent]Combining comprehensive strategies with common sense, Let’s Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years. Giving parents helpful information and fostering environments that support healthy choices. Providing healthier foods in our schools. Ensuring that every family has access to healthy, affordable food. And, helping children become more physically active.[/background]
[background=transparent]At the launch of the initiative, President Barack Obama signed a Presidential Memorandum creating the first-ever Task Force on Childhood Obesity to conduct a review of every single programs and policies relating to child nutrition and physical activity and develop a national action plan to maximize federal resources and set concrete benchmarks toward the First Lady’s national goal. The Task Force recommendations focus on the five pillars of the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative:[/background]
  • Creating a healthy start for children
  • Empowering parents and caregivers
  • Providing healthy food in schools
  • Improving access to healthy, affordable foods
  • Increasing physical activity
[background=transparent]Everyone has a role to play in reducing childhood obesity, including parents and caregivers, elected officials from all levels of government, schools, health care professionals, faith-based and community-based organizations, and private sector companies. Your involvement is key to ensuring a healthy future for our children.[/background]
