Only one big looming difference there liar.
And that is would you still place your total BS Lies on here if your real name were known and your reputation on the line?
You know, that old accountability issue that you industrial unionist all fear so much?

You seem to have overlooked the "accurate" part of RV4's request.

Let's requalify then. TRUTHFUL, ACCURATE, and DETAILED discusssions.

Example #1 - Detailed Arguement
Will you sign and date a personal contract with me, that insures me that the ibt "can and will" force AA in Federal Court to open section 6 negotations upon being certified? Seems to be an easy lie to place on a flyer, or post on this forum, but I would like a signed agreement from YOU.

How is that for a "significant retort"? Your move/turn
The only significant retort that is posisble, is one that holds accountability.
But you already knew that I am sure.

Sooo, you would like me to sign a piece of paper for you guaranteeing that the IBT will prevail in a court issue? If I can not do that, then I am a liar according to your explanation, is this correct??

It all seems so simple now..... lol 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

Where can I get my signed agreement then?

Another Significant Retort from you? This reponse is the typical no accountability attached response that you ibt supporters always tender. Exactly why this is a meaningless forum as it pertains to the truth.

Is this AMFA logic? Do you really know anyone who could guarantee a court proceeding?

My only guarantee is that I do not know the future.

YOU claim nothing can be done about opening section 6 and the Teamsters through their lawyer have a different opinion. They are convinced that this case is one with merit and they have stated their willingness to fight it in court should they prevail as your new union.

The Teamsters in their flyer claim "The fact is that Teamsters Airline Division will not waiver from our stance that we can and will reopen your contract just as we have done in the past!" this is not a claim of we will go to the court and see what happens this we will open your contract all were saying is put it on paper and sign it! By the way they did not say the case has merit they said they can and will do it! so which is it.

Have them SHOW YOU the TACTICAL survey, how it was worded, and what the vote results were.

I would love to see those myself.

This INDUSTRY HAS BEEN IN TURMOIL since DEREGULATION was enacted.

Think about it.
They asked to open the contract first, and then took the survey after management agreed?

Right, I have some swamp land in Arizona too!

Do you really own land in Arizona? Is it swamp land?

http://arizona.hometownlocator.com/features/physical,class,swamp.cfm

According to the above website there are 28 records of swamp land in Arizona. Which one is yours??

Or did you just get caught in another LIE ?

What plan would you suggest the TSH?

Speaking only for myself, I'd entertain several options...

A generous 401k boost in the 9-10% range.

(While I know there are many that shy away from this option, I have never had a problem handling my own retirement/investment financing.)

The CARP plan CAL currently has, with a modification thereof with strict language on funding.

(The UAL pension plan was fine in its time. It was only when creative government funding restrictions-or lack thereof- allowed UAL and other companies to put off funding in boom times which led directly to the plans crippling in bad times. While many may not want a "company plan" again and the associated stigma, I for one would be okay with the idea if solid no-nonsense funding language was added so that UAL kept the plan fully funded/ set contribution levels, no matter how the market was doing.)

The Annuity option the ibt has talked about

(intriguing idea but I'd need to see the details for a final answer. At first glance it looks ok)

That's what I thought.

You don't even know where the big picture is, so you could get it .

Good suggestions.

I like the generous 401K, but again only as a supplement. I agree with you about the UAL plan. It was a good idea in it's day. however, the CARP (Continental Airlines Retirement Plan) even with the language COULD be subject to weakness based on the ever present threat of bankruptcy.

We are even on the annuity. I would settle for that other than a DB, but like you need more specifics.

Central states aside, have you considered or looked at the IBT's WCT Pension Plan? For us in UAL, I still think this is the best option based on our overall age.

Again, speaking only for myself.

Yes, when the ibt first came onboard at UAL I secured a copy of the WCTPT plan.

I have two major problems with it, work restrictions, and lack of participation guarantees.

The problem with work restrictions is simple, I plan to do occasional work in the industry after retirement and I'm not interested in any plan that would halt my pension payments if I did.

As for participation, the Gegare video I've posted is it in a nutshell. At one time Central States was a great plan, check out the video and listen to the time it was established and the benefits it paid out. That said, what good does it do to get into say the WCT and 5+ years from now Hoffa or someone else allows another company or companies to pull out just like he has done in Central States, and put my retirement in danger just as I'm ready to go out the door?

You know, as much as you and I disagree, I can at least count on you to come up with some educated answers.

Your first complaint on the work restrictions is one of mine as well and I made a few phone calls to get more information.

-For those of you who are unfamiliar, basically, if a person retires and is on the WCT pension plan he is not allowed to get another job of the same type. So if I work for UAL as a line mechanic, I retire and decide I want to get a job at Southwest, my retirement payments will stop as long as i work at SWA. Now if I wanted to get a job say in Boeing, or at a small private airport maybe like one near my home in San Carlos, working on private aircraft, the work would have to be approved first through the trustees. If approved, I will continue my benefits. If I take a job at dinner slopping soup, no problem.-

Now I am not planning on working at any other airline after I retire, but working small aircraft would be fun. I felt much better after i learned there is a process for appealing different types of continued work that may be considered similar, but still? The idea that I am restricted at all does not sit too well with me either.

I asked why they came up with this and I was told that the idea came from several suggestions from members themselves who did not want to see a person retire and then work for a competing company and jeopardize the jobs of others in the plan. OK...? To me, this is a stretch, and I have a hard time accepting the rational, but like I said, at least there is an appeal process and in the end, if I can at least still work on private AC, at least for me it is not a game stopper. For others, however, I can see the problems brewing.

As for the participation issue, like I said, at least you offer legitimate concerns. I do not have an answer for that one but it is something worth sinking my teeth in to. I know the withdraw liabilities for the WCT are very high, but you question as to what other protections there are and what is to stop another Central States scenario is valid.
