TWU Chapter 11 - AA 1113 Filing

I will never bash the IAM because they are a way better union than the POS union the TWU is. Did you know that AA hired 60 mechanics off the street at JFK in 2002 while us TWAers were out of unemployment and the TWU did nothing to stop it until we threatened them with a lawsuit and then they started to recall us and the best part is those 60mechanics with zero seniority got to stay. This is why I'm A Hater.
We(local 562) did confront management on the issue of hiring new people while TWA guys were going to the street. The excuse was the seniority issue, we said hire first, give them DOH then settle it later..
By the way the IAM started this on going round of concessions over at USAIR when they gave concessions prior to bk then two more in BK.
How much seniority did your IAM get for ex-EAL guys?

I get the impression some people on this forum believe Aircraft Maintainance is the reason the company went bankrupt. My question is do you believe if the TA for Maint and related passed it would of saved the company from filing ?

NO it would not have mattered IMHO. It does not matter how hard we work. This has been proven time and again here and at other companies. Our line worked nearly 150 SV and drop ins last year with 103% on time performance. So no I do not believe it would have made a difference. Upper management makes mistakes and we pay for it.

Bob the IAM did not give concession in 2002 outside of bankruptcy. The only group that did that was the Pilots and we voted down the first offer in bankruptcy #1 and had our CBA abrogated in Bankruptcy #2, please dont post false information.

And its US Airways, hasnt been US Air since 1996.

Thanks.

While we do frequently keep in touch electronically there have been no secret meetings and Larry Pike has been involved in those exchanges as well. There has been no discussion about red circling the line stations among us.

Keep listening to the rumors, it only strengthens you paranoia.

Out of respect and as requested I will not disclose my source about this matter. But everyone can be assured this is not paranoia, and I believe there is more to come on this issue.

Paranoia is self generated and this is not the case here as I was informed not manipulated.

It's amusing to see how the TWU apologists and cronies seek to blame Bob Owens for the bankrupcy of AA.

It simply isn't possible folks!

I've been retired for 10 years and don't know Bob Owens.

The TWU suckies haven't changed a bit in all the years that I've been gone.

Why in the world would you tell the company it's ok to hire new people while people like me were unemployed and I had a hard time feeding my family. Why couldn't they recall us with DOH until seniority was settled. At least we would of had a paycheck coming in. Hiring off the street was a slap in the face and this is why there is hatred in the company. We are all supposed to be union brothers it doesn't matter what union were in and were supposed to stand up for each other. This is not about AA/TWA it's about Sticking together and look out for each other. TWU standing with the company hurt us. By the way The Eastern guys that stayed with US did get there DOH seniority in 2005 and there is no animosity among us because it was the right thing to do.

On November 29th, 2011, Bob Owens' stratgey of using the NMB request for release as leverage blew up in his face.
Bob is not to blame for the Bankruptcy, Management is, however Bob is to be blamed for a failed union negotiating strategy that will now leave thousands losing their jobs.

His strategy screwed me personally out of $16,000.0 plus, and now my co-workers work will be outsourced and they will be laid-off. Given my seniority, I will still be employed, but I would have preferred to take the raises and try to save the work. Now all of the concessions of T/A will come to pass and maybe more, while thousands will lose their jobs.

There was an alternative placed before us. We voted, Bob lead the NO VOTE!

There is a delicate balance between greed and job protection, Bob failed to recognize that fact. With the laws and political stacked against us, he was determined to fight with a weak army and no weapons.

You are still blaming Bob Owens! The majority of union members voted to turn the proposed contract down. A whole lot of people didn't like it; I see that you are not blaming them

I seem to remember in the past, that you have posted on this board that you would not go out on strike if the TWU called for one..

Oh faithful union brother!

informer im really confused at times you trash the twu other times you seem to be in love with them. maybe you should change your moniker to IHOP and just flip flop along all day. Better yet get with overspeed and cactus and you can have a pity party. Geez it is what it is get over it and deal with what your served. you got your vote and cast it, you did cast it i assume? you said your piece now move on and get over it. all the no vote did was speed up the inevitable doesnt matter what union or club or association your in we are here and it is what it is.

No need in blaming me for your confusion, look within.

Just because somone voted yes, and points out the flaws in the Bob Owen's lead strategy does not make them a TWU lover.
That is coming from your own thought process and your own mind.

You have no right to tell me to move on after I post. Contrary to your instructions, I am just as entitled to post here as you are.

Your problem is that you only want to read here what you agree with and desire to hear. Obviously you would prefer to ignore the truth. There is an ignore option on the forum if you prefer not to read my post, find that option and use it, but to try to manipulate me to move on and stop is far more TWU like than you could imagine.

In other words K-M-A

You give Bob too much credit. Outside of local 562 most AA AMTs don't know who Bob is. Fewer still read this website. Safe to say, people voted their conscious after viewing the details of the TA.

Maybe you are right, but I doubt one person viewed this video over 5000 times.
Bob Owens YOUTUBE Vote NO Video

And even after the NO VOTE, Bob Owens had considerable influence on the stratgey after the TWU International backed off and let the NO VOTERS have at it to get a better deal.
