TWU,TEAMSTERS AND AA

According to your link...

"Among major airlines, Southwest Airlines Co. outsources the highest percentage of its maintenance work at 61.7% of dollars spent, according to BTS."

How 'bout that swamt? Overspeed caught you in another web and didn't even know it
How much does IBT represented UPS outsource?

We had a DBP up until January of 2005 and it was terminated.

In 2008 M&R got into the IAMNPF, the current multiplier is almost $86 a month and on the table is a multiplier of $104 a month.

Keep trying Bob.

US filed chapter 11 in 2002 and concessions were given in 2002 and 2003, then US filed Chapter 11 again in 2004 and our CBA was abrogated in 2005, then in 2008 US and the IAM agreed to a transition agreement to merge the East and West, and that is better than your 2003 concessions and your Chapter 11 CBA and are in Section 6 negotiations.

The US/IAM CBA has more pay, vacation, sick time, swaps, and scope than your AA/TWU CBA.

Thanks company boy. See if you took off your IAM blinders you would agree that the contract sucks but instead you go around saying "oh look our contacts sucks less".

No he hasn't. Do you see UPS listed on the list? No you do not. He was only comparing passenger airlines and he did not include them all. Keep posting your doing great...

"On the table", collecting dust along with all the other stuff the IAM has been asking for as management continues to ignore them like they have done for years. Still they don't push the process forward, and patiently wait for management to make time for them as their members go another year under an amendable contract at the bottom of the industry. Again, if the pension is so great then how come USAIR is full of old people?

You know what Anomaly, at this point in our careers - most of us care more about our pay and benefits. Sure it would be nice if every airline had to do all their overhaul maintenance in house. There would be better quality, and more control. Unfortunately, the airlines want to roll the dice with outsourcing heavy maintenance. What is the response from our industrial union leadership? They cannibalize the pay and benefits of the rest of the AMTs in an attempt to keep more jobs in overhaul. What has that got us? The companies ended up laying off the people they wanted to anyway - brilliant. Now we have the worst pay and benefits in the industry.

The answer is not more of the same. It is no secret that the TWU, IAM, and the IBT are more concerned about collecting dues than anything else. The only logical choice for AMTs at this point is AMFA. We need to focus on restoring our pay and benefits. That cannot be accomplished with the deal cutting, self serving, weak leadership that the industrial unions offer...

Now who represents the AMT's at UPS again?
UPS farms out 100% of their heavy checks from B checks on up.
UPS has less AMT's than any major carrier.
UPS has PART TIME AMT's.

Actually were hiring and have been hiring for the last year or so, and will continue hiring but not sure for how much longer. SWA just tested aprox 30 more mechanics in the month of July, they may end up with 12-18 out of that group. 24 new mechanics just started on the floor this past Monday.

Ok here we go....
1. The IBT Represents UPS AMT's.
And They SET THE BAR FOR TOP PAY AND BENEFITS FOR THE AMT PROFESSION AT ALMOST $50.00 HOUR. http://www.teamster....ison-Sept28.pdf

2. UPS does farm out work, Has for many years! Not sure about the B checks as I do not work for them but MOST Wish They Did.!!!!.

3. UPS is a Cargo Airline and not a major passenger airline as we IBT supporters are so often reminded when using then to compare Top wages and benefits of AMT's.
I do not know the head count at UPS but you must so post the facts.

4. UPS has PART TIME AMT's and their take home pay is more than likely as much as you or I make now and they are only working part time.
I know guys who have moon lighted part time at UPS and have quit airlines to go full time when a full time position opens, Sometimes that's the only way to get in at UPS.

The fact is none of us like the fact that company's farm out work but it is mostly the fault of AMT's for taking higher pay and benefits in exchange for out sourcing and once they do it's like pulling hen's teeth to get it back in house.
It's nice to see some unions are starting to try or putting there foot down to stop the out sourcing.

Have A Nice IBT Day.

Same license and up until a few years ago we all made around the same. neither UPS or WN increased outsourcing in exchange for higher wages, neither of them laid off any mechanics either. The difference is'nt in the industry its in the structure of their representation. All the mechanics are in Local 2727, a mechanics Local where they flat out set out to maximize pay rates and protect the workers they have, but thats not the structure that the IBT has for UAL mechanics who earn much less and enjoy the economies of scale that make in house practical and cost effective, nor is it what they have planned for us or USAIR. Instead we are being thrown into Locals where we will be a minority and have no real voice. We are to be treated as spoils, max dues payers with very little service cost for the Locals that we are to be dumped and disbursed into. Instead of Jim Little, Bobby Gless and Don Videtich telling us to lower our expectations we will have some Supermarket worker, zoo keeper or a truck driver telling us to lower our expectations and paying $300 a year more than we are paying now. We are working on getting rid of them and in a Union this size we have more of a voice than we would in the million member IBT where most of them make less than us.

The fact is when UPS sits at the table they compare their guys to what we make, after all its the same exact job with the same exact qualifications and licenses and responsibilities. Do the oil companies or the airports give the passenger airlines a discount because they aren't as profitable? Why should we? Is this the ideology of the IBT? Make your members subsidize management failure? Sounds a lot like Jim Little, Bobby Gless and Videtich to me, and I don't consider any of them to be models of good unionism. The fact is that you can not cite any carrier out there that has increased outsourcing for increased wages, instead we see where carriers decreased wages and increased outsourcing. Show me one where they didnt.

You are so wrong Bob. I can summarize your comments as nothing more than philosophical opinions based on your own idiotic ideas. They are wrong. UPS does not care what UA makes. They don;t care what any airline makes. They do care what Fed Ex mechanics and other CARGO company mechanics make. The Oil workers don't care what gas station attendants make either to stick a big toe in to your little charade.

Stick to what you know. This aint it. 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
