U.S. Airways tanks across the pond

Wow! Joe sounds a lot like me, only he gets paid to write about it.

Hmm......sounds like that could be fun.

I liked the sentence about flights crews not speaking the language at the destination or origination airports. I wonder if that happens a lot on the LGW flights.

Does anyone have a list of the current USAirways Board of Directors? Are they alive? Do they even exists on any level to do thier job? Please post so that I can personally print out this artical and mail it to them. I hope 111 W Rio Salado Parkway is choking on thier Cornflakes reading this. Good for Mr. Brancatelli for exposing them for the frauds they are in a national paper.

Great article!!!

I say, give Dougie and team until the end of the 3rd quarter to fix this mess or fire them!!!!

This is such an embarrasment!!!!!!!!

US SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the life of me, I can't understand why the premium carriers of the Star Alliance don't just kick US out of their organization. Does the Star Alliance have NO STANDARDS or accountability? I only wish Brancatelli had made prominent mention of the Star Alliance in his article.

Any Star Alliance management watching this mess? Are you going to let Tempe drag your reputation down the hole too?

If it does happen, you know the Sand Castle will try to spin it like US is leaving *A on its own. Chances are that "business model" and "cost neutral" will be in the press release.

"Are you proud to work for US Airways" from corp culture survey in 2006.

Does anyone have a list of the current USAirways Board of Directors?
They're listed on the US website. Look under About US ->Investor Relations->Corporate Governance. No address are given, though.

Let's see if Dougie or one of his croonies has the chudspa to write a retort to Joe that gets printed. They'll spin it 7 ways from here to Sunday.
It really DOESN'T MATTER what Elise BlabberWHINE issues from her compound in Tempe. These people are the laughing stock of the industry and NO ONE has A-N-Y respect for them. And the thought of going to a Town Hall Meeting to listen to "The Fools On Parade"........I would rather count the seeds in a tomatoe. Regardless East or West.........the verdict is in, TEMPE IS A JOKE!

what will happen now?

What SHOULD happen is the easier question to answer......THIS ENTIRE MANAGEMENT TEAM NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!! What WILL happen, well I think we can all figure that one out.....NOTHING!!

David Neeleman graciously "stepped down" after jetBlue's Valentine's Day meltdown. He knew they messed up, and he knew that as CEO the buck stopped with him, and he was accountable. US has had continual meltdowns of all varieties for 6 months, but there is absolutely nothing "gracious" about Doug Parker.

Certainly an interesting article, Doug and mangement need to resolve very quickly. However the report indicates that Joe never flew on US Airways TA during the peak travel summer season, he is only reporting the data from the DOT, and the previuosly reported issues, that are already known. I'm sure if you look at the data, it is well known that all the US carriers have had similar TA and domestic nightmare issues this summer.

People MUST forget all about "USAirways". We NO LONGER EXIST. We are America West with a new paint job.

and one hellofa pissed off workforce.

but Tempe doesn't care, as I sit here in Phoenix, its really nice.. flights are ON-Time... 4 gate agents to a flight - hell, I would have been thrilled to have help when I boarded my flights - but wait, I had a competent computer system. I've been sent down the jetway three times to wait to 'see if there's an open seat'... (ya know, in 18 mos I don't think I've ever given out a seat dupe or did that to a non-rev! Only time I had to pull people off was due to a weight restriction when the captain needed more juice for da engines).

Phoenix works fine because its how its always been.. its not as complex as CLT and PHL. I'm lookin up at the departure boards and I see MAYBE 3 international destinations, yet I go to PHL and I'll see 19 European cities and 10-15 caribbean markets. And I'll see planes that dwarf the HP 737s and A320s.

Unfortunately what worked for HP will not work for the "new USAirways".... i mean, look at how HP handled Hawai'i. Had the "old" US flown these routes, you bet your ass we would have had specialized service for Hawai'i -- instead of the same service you get to JFK on a flight that is only 30 minutes shorter than PHL - Ireland, which gets a heck of a lot more service than Hawai'i.

we need to go back and sit thru the brain washing classes again cause we keep thinking of how it was in the past, how nice it was, how we could do our jobs efficiently...... and its just not gonna be like that again.

Want an ontime flight? try Southwest.

Want more legroom? try JetBlue or United.

want a true trans atlantic product? try United, Delta, or American.

want a good frequent flyer program? heck, anyone but US!

want to pay the least amount and get the least amount? FLY US!

It just shows how truly incompetent the current leadership is.

PHL is positioned to be a gateway to Europe and used to be before America West got a hold of the company. The appeal of flying out of PHL versus JFK is something that US could have capitalized on, and at one time did, now they are a joke.

USAirway..
USTraiways..
USErrorways....

Call it what you will but....mostly it's a disaster. Thank you Dougweiser. I just wonder how creative your books are....concerning company profitability.

We're USAirways..name only. This whole operation is an America Worst operation. Can you say Qik/Shares.

The board of directors needs to act quickly and let Parker go.
